the following should not be cons as financial legal or tax advice my experiences are all anecdotal and should be used as examples or inspiration for your own ventures hi anti work well come back it's friday yay that means another episode of seven day weekend i hope you guys have been enjoying all of my tips and advice but most of all my attitude towards life i'm all about living that independent entrepreneur life and you can do it too so in this episode i'm going to be talking about how to get into the mindset and why it's good for you if you guys had a chance to listen to last week's episode i gave you guys the ultimate crash course on how you can work for yourself without any degree and so this episode is a really great follow up because it's really gonna get you in the mindset of making that happen and how you can become an entrepreneur yourself and get you guys in the right heads space for that before we really get into that i just kinda wanted to share some really fun news with you guys so my baby finley he has officially started walking i have a walker he's been taking a few steps here and there a lot but now he is officially walking and we had to actually get him some shoes and he starts walking you know like when you put shoes on a dog and they're just like flop all over the place he's and they just really don't get how shoes work that's totally him so it's really funny to see and it's super super cute and he's already skin his like a real toddler running around and falling so it's really sweet and he's just living and loving life right now also today earlier i saw that taylor swift isn't ending her arr tour she's gonna be in miami and she's gonna be in miami that's you know i'm in the fort lauderdale miami area and she's gonna be in miami for three nights so i was like cool like totally gonna go see taylor swift three nights like tickets shouldn't be that crazy i didn't go check but my sister law checked and she was telling me that tickets were like for nose blades it's like thirteen hundred dollars i don't know if they've already sold out and those are like resale prices but that's insane and she's like good seats are like three thousand dollars and i was like listen i was like man i like taylor swift but not that much and it's like i make pretty good money and i'm still like there's just no way i i don't even know who would be worth that amount of money but i heard she puts on a really good show so maybe if i see tickets kind of plummet all i doubt it though i doubt it she's gonna be doing three nights in miami because there's a demand for it so yeah probably won't be seal seeing taylor swift but that's okay so let's get into the podcast and let's talk about the entrepreneur mindset really just a preface anybody can be an entrepreneur right it just really takes somebody who is a self starter and is motivated and actually won't to do it there are plenty of people who don't want to be entrepreneurs and that's totally fine too you don't have to be an entrepreneur so really if we want to get into the main differences between being an entrepreneur and being tied to like a traditional job right what are some main differences here so main differences for people who actually work a traditional job and entrepreneurs is just a different you know reworking of your brain what you have to realize that a job isn't something that you need right a job is just how you pay your bills and how you have health insurance and how you have benefits right but you don't need a job for those things right you can make an income you could have benefits you can have health insurance outside of a traditional job it's totally doable and it's way easier than a lot of people think i'm always so surprised at how many people say they can't quit their job because of their benefit i'm like you you don't need your job to have benefits you know that right like people drive uber and they've got their own self self employment benefits it's it's totally possible and it's it's a really big common misconception that if you work a job that pays you really really well that you're gonna be wealthy it's really really hard to become significantly wealthy on a salary alone right most people build their wealth through investments right so sometimes they're making good money but then they invest that money in a stock market or in real estate and that's actually where they see real wealth not from there you know a hundred and fifty thousand dollar a year job because that's not what's gonna build you actual wealth that's just going to fluff your bank account but if you want to start having you know millions by the time you retire you have to invest and so that's a big misconception to where people are like well if i want to be set up for retirement i have to work a job and pay into my four zero one k and it's you don't necessarily need a four zero one k and that's sometimes not the best way to set yourself up for retirement either because you'll end up getting social security that really doesn't pay a lot and you'll be on a very very you know restricted budget and lifestyle as opposed to if you put money towards investments that actually create more wealth for you another main difference is that you have to be willing to work eighty hours for yourself rather than wanting to work forty hours a week for anybody else right the idea for me as an entrepreneur the idea of me working a job and working for somebody else genuinely makes my skin crawl when you have that type of thought and mindset you'll do whatever it takes to not have to go back to a job those are some really main key differences between working a traditional job and being an entrepreneur and having an entrepreneur mindset right it's like you have to really want it because for one you do have to be a self starter and for two you have to want it more than being comfortable at your job right because that's a lot of people get very comfortable and it's hard to leave your comfort zone so if we wanna really break down what an entrepreneur mindset is let's get into it right every entrepreneurs is going to be is gonna be different and there's no real clear cut path to success everyone's is going to look completely different but all successful entrepreneurs share specific skill sets that allow them to solve problems overcome obstacles and thrive in their respective field so some skills i'm just gonna list them and then i'll i'll dive deeper into them right so some of the skills that you need to have in order to keep up with an mindset is you have to have the ability to confront your own self doubt you have to also have hardcore accountability you also have to have tons and tons of resilience and you have to have a willingness to experiment okay so ability to confront self doubt i think everybody goes through self doubt whether you work at a regular job or you are an entrepreneur but especially if you're an entrepreneur because it's all on you right nobody there's no boss there's no coworkers to help you brainstorm and to help you get through it at the end of the day it's all on you and that's really really scary and you can fall really deeply into impostor syndrome and getting over that can be very very hard but it just comes with the territory and you have to teach yourself how to think and acting like you're your own coach or even your own cheerleader entrepreneurial success will come from your ability to control your own thoughts and confront yourself doubt making it easier to navigate the failures and disappointment inherent to going out on your own right honestly the only way to get over it is to go through it you just have to dive in and you have to do it and you have to sep the fact that you're not gonna be perfect at it and that that's okay and that doing it and just moving forward is more important than perfection and making sure it's done right every step at the time if you can recall from my one of my podcast episodes where i talked about how i royal screwed up my very first client and it was all because of self doubt that thought like i couldn't do this and that they're crazy for paying me money and i basically kinda ghost to them which i highly do not recommend but go back and listen to that episode because it's really really funny not funny for the client but it was a learning experience and it was like there was no way i was going to be able to prepare myself to get over that fear right there was nothing i could do there was a book i could read there was no amount of course i could take to actually make me get over that fear the only way to get over it was to actually jump right in get your toes wet mess up you don't have to mess up but messing up i think really helped me and then it was like hey i did it i messed up move on like got that out of the way i can keep moving forward and it can you know either feed into yourself doubt more or it can propel you into thinking like okay now i learned what not to do i can be so much better moving forward so it's really just you have to confront that self doubt and you have to be able to just move forward and just do it just do it i know so many people in the space that are just like perfection and they'll do every little thing to make sure everything is set up perfect before they actually go out and try and book work and it's like just stop you're fine you're already as perfect as it's gonna get like you just have to do it and it's because they have all the self doubt it's like it's not ready yet it's not perfect enough yet and it's like you're your own worst enemy you have to just do it you have to get over that and the only way to get over that is to go through it so number the next one was accountability which is really big and really important so having an entrepreneurial spirit includes recognizing your responsibility for the outcomes and the actions of your business when big things go wrong and they always always will reference back to my first client right the buck gotta stop with you even when outcomes are outside of your control like completely entrepreneurial thinking requires you to avoid making excuses and instead take actions to resolve the option right so you have to have accountability and when you're an and running your own business if anything goes wrong even like i said if it's out of your control it's all your fault it's still your fault it's your business it's your fault and that can weigh heavy on people and sometimes we would rather cow and not take accountability and we would rather know hi hide under rock and give up and be like not for me i can't do it rather than say like hey i messed up i'm gonna own it i'm gonna fix it i'm going to apologize where i need to apologize and counteract this issue and learn from it and move forward and know that you know i'm gonna go through this a lot in this entrepreneurial process and i'm just going to have to recognize that some things i'm gonna mess up on because let's face it nobody's perfect not even me and you're just going to mess up and hold yourself accountable it's okay and it's gonna help with growth right it's really really bad if things go wrong and you blame everything else especially the things that are out of your control right if you're gonna just blame things that happen that you you know you wanna blame that we're out of your control rather than saying like i could have controlled this it's never gonna work in your favor ever it just it just won't so the third one was resilience and this is where we see make or break right this is where we see who is willing to be an entrepreneur and who's gonna go back to the corporate grind or going back the comfort ability of a job the ease of a job as i like to call it is it's resilience right so mistakes are inevitable when attempting to launch new ventures everyone from silicon valley billionaires to low level employees are gonna make mistakes that's why our resilience is one of the most important life skills for an entrepreneur your ability to bounce back from failure will help your business to stay afloat and inspire a team to follow your leadership what i always always always say is that you never fail right the only way you fail is if you give up and you stop that's the only guaranteed way to fail and to not succeed at it right if you keep making mistakes and keep having setbacks and you quit because of that that's the only way you'll fail but if you keep moving forward even failure after failure and you just keep moving forward with it that's what's gonna set you apart right and that's what's gonna make you in the long run ending up succeeding is because you didn't let those setbacks take away from your desire to be an entrepreneur and to keep going and to just learn from those experiences use them as tools now moving forward you have to go through some failures right you have to go through some failures before you learn everything the only way to learn certain things is to process by elimination right it's like okay well that didn't work i failed at that so obviously that's not the right way to do it let's try a different way so process of elimination and it's not you failing it's you learning how to do it right and do it better and a lot of people see failures as i'm done i can't keep going and so that's that's kind of at a breaking point for a lot of people to go back to a job is because i failed this isn't for me i can't do it i have to go back and i have to get a job and be dependent on that instead so resilience resilience is huge and i also always say you know you're gonna hear a hundred nose before you ever hear a single yes and that's okay that's what you gotta do that's that show is baby and just know that that's normal and that there's it's not like you know you're going to attempt three times and then it's gonna succeed it's gonna fail a bunch of times before it succeeds and that's normal and that's part of the process this so moving on if we want to go into willingness to experiment here's another really really good one so whether you're a c cofounder of a business or simply one of the many young people trying to set out a new career path your road to sustain success will lead you to many tough decisions so entrepreneurs opportunities are always willing to experiment when it comes to new products business plans or problem solving techniques you gotta be willing to test out different products pricing feedback from a core team or trusted advisors and you have to be willing to abandon ideas when they aren't working and move on from that so willingness to experiment or taking risks right you have to take risks what was it i send something like elon musk he sold paypal or his shares of paypal or whatever it was he had in paypal and he sold it and he reinvest in tesla and spacex and i it was for either millions or billions that he sold his shares or whatever too and he reinvest all of it he said he had to borrow money for rent because he had no rent money after using up all of his funds to reinvest in these new business ventures and you know that's a massive risk imagine having like multi millions or potentially billions of dollars and then saying like hey i'm just gonna throw it all to these new businesses and have literally nothing left in my bank account and just hope for the best right so he's got a real serial entrepreneurial mindset and he was willing to take those risks and obviously they paid off in the end and it's something that is really really important and i always say you gotta a risk it to get the biscuit there are so many times where you're gonna tell yourself it's not gonna work and to take the safe route but only growth comes from taking those risks and leaving your comfort zone and doing what's not comfortable for you and pushing through that so you gotta risk it to get the biscuit you've gotta experiment you've gotta try new things that haven't been done before and see if they work and you also have to be willing to accept it if you try a lot for something and you think it's gonna explode and you think it's gonna be the best thing ever and it just doesn't work you have to be willing to pivot and adapt and say this didn't work and that's okay because now we can do something else so very important to be willing to experiment and take risks so now if we want to figure out how we can build an entrepreneur mindset right so now we kind of have all of the information on what an entrepreneur entrepreneurial mindset is if anybody can be an entrepreneur what's the main differences between an entrepreneur and working in a regular job but how do we actually build a entrepreneurial mindset right so for first and foremost you have to set clear goals you also have to practice being decisive you have to redefine failure again and you've got to always face your fears i remain curious always be open to learning so if we want to dive into how to set clear goals right for me i like to set real goals clear goals and then some you know motivational goals too right so what is something that i really want right so for me at first it was making ten thousand dollars a month right and so how what steps do i need to take in order to make that happen right so i have clients that average at two thousand dollars a month right so i'm gonna need five clients in order to get to ten thousand dollars a month okay and so what are the steps in order to get those clients and to have five a month on retainer so build those out right and then it's like okay shoot for the moon i wanna make seven figures a month and so when you have those types of goals as well it's a lot easier to hit ten thousand dollars a month when you're actually trying to hit seven figures a month so have clear and concise goals but also strive for more as well i i don't know if i necessarily believe in manifestation that actually putting it out into the universe the universe will deliver but i believe that if you say something enough you start to believe it and then you even subconsciously will just take the steps to make it happen right where you start to tell yourself like i will make seven figures a month i will make seven figures a i will make seven figures a month that starts to become like it's gonna happen because i tell it to myself every day and maybe the universe isn't gonna deliver it to me but i'm in the head space that that's what's gonna happen for me so the opportunities and risks i'm gonna take are gonna be the ones that are gonna get me there because in my head i'm telling myself that that's what's going to happen so have clear goals put it out into the universe whether you believe in manifestation or not i think really really helpful and also set goals that are really really high because it's so much easier to hit they say like you know if your goal is to make a million dollars make the goal fifty million dollars because you'll hit a million dollars so quick when you're actually aiming for fifty million dollars i believe that's true right it took me so long to get to ten k a month right like years it took years and then after i made ten k a month it was like six months later i was making thirty k a month and then six months later from that i was making six figures a month and it's just when you had such a low like ten figures that's it i gotta get to it it's like you're doing smaller things and you have smaller goals and it takes you longer to get there so it's crazy how it was way easier for me to get to six figures a month than it was for me to get to ten figure or ten k a month so set clear goals set really high goals and you know put it out there into the universe you also have to practice being decisive right you have to be able to analyze situations you have to be able to absorb stuff and you have to make confident decisions right you have i say make that executive decision like don't think about it just to make that decision small businesses and startups can be ruined by in indecision like big time where they don't make smart choices because they're scared and then they let that end up destroying them making decisions also really builds your confidence and it's one of the vital steps and skills for an entrepreneur so start being really decisive and making those hard to decisions not only in your business but in your personal life too and that will start to become common business practice for you when you start to make them in your personal life too right don't think around like should i do this should and i do this what's your gut tell you just do it because the longer you waste time deciding on it the worst it's gonna end up being for you the next one is redefine failure right and when we touched on this already a little bit but we always see failing as negative like oh my god i failed i failed i'm a failure and it doesn't need to be seen that way i've failed many of times and now i'm clearly in a very good place and it was because i didn't let those failures define me or define what i was worth or what i was capable of doing so failing really just indicates that you've tried something which is always scary to do but as they all say the true failure in life is not trying at all right and that's because if you don't try you're never gonna you're never gonna succeed you're never gonna win if you don't at least try it so many people i hear talk about their great business ideas that they have and usually they are great business ideas and then they just do nothing with them or do nothing about them and they're because they're scared to fail they're so scared to fail when it's like you know the only true failure is not doing it right you really failed because you didn't even try so always try and redefine failure as a positive and as learning experience and it's more so just accepting that it's part of business right there is no business that's done everything right all of the time ever there's no person that's done everything right all of the time ever i mean i use the example of elon musk right and we all know he's not making so many good decisions right now and he's doing some stuff that is might potentially fail but that's okay because it's normal business like that's what happens with business and so many businesses will fail at something they'll have startups i'm trying to think of a business that was like meant for one thing and then they went like a completely other direction because it's like that initial idea wasn't cutting it and the proprietary information or software actually worked good for a totally separate reason and they went with it and that business that was completely something that wasn't even going to be their main idea their main focus so what they had originally thought they wanted you know failed because it didn't work and then they still used the same everything the same to then pivot and do something completely different with it and that's when it's succeeded and that's when it thrived and so next this one just touches on everything else we've been talking about which is facing your fears and this is another mako or break it for entrepreneurs is the ability to face your fears and to not let those fears stop you from from doing what it is you wanna do so many people just will not push forward because it's scary and the idea of failure is more frightening to them than not even trying at all so getting rejected again and again is massive shutdown downs and it doesn't feel very good and you know we went on this journey this entrepreneur journey to feel good right like we wanna feel good we're wanna work for ourselves we wanna make a life for ourselves and we don't wanna hear rejection after rejection because that takes a toll takes a toll on us emotionally our mentality as well it's just something that again is part of business and the only way to get through it or to get over it is to go through it always always always and you can always you know fine tune this right you get over your fears by by practicing practicing is very very helpful practice things before you act implement them and then that can help you kind of bridge the gap between the fear of doing it because you'll feel just maybe a little bit more prepared it's very important to face your fears and to not let them dictate you i mean they say at the end of the road your you know people health life regrets is just not doing what they they wanted to do in life in because they let fear dictate their decisions and hold them back right i think they say like at at the end of your line your the they interview people and it's always like regret is doing the things they didn't wanna do and that they just stayed comfortable and they let the life structure dictate their life rather than doing the things that they wanted to do for themselves and then the last one is to remain curious so curiosity is one of the most important traits for entrepreneurs you have to constantly constantly be learning and maintaining your competitive edge i literally fall asleep reading reddit like i'm on my phone in my bed and i pass out reading reddit threads on everything that has to do with mist so ai chat digital marketing facebook ads because so many people are always asking me like oh my gosh how do you say up to date on all of this stuff and i'm like i am always consuming always consuming even when it's not even something that's really super geared towards my business i'm just always consuming i'm consuming on motivation i'm consuming on things that are related to my business i'm cons consuming on new technology i'm just always consuming right i don't you know play video games or stuff like i read twitter i watch youtube videos like i'm just always consuming and i'm always excited about new things and here's like a good example of what's difference between an entrepreneur and like somebody who is just really geared towards the work first right when ai came out i've had so many people tell me that like ai and chad eb is gonna take my job right digital marketing facebook ads whatever and i was like whoa this technology is so good and i really hope it can really help me and like i need to get on it and leverage it as quickly as possible so that i am on the cutting edge and that i am irr replaceable right like i'm gonna be the person who not only is the best at digital marketing now i know the best tools out there plus i know digital marketing like i'm ind baby like you're you can't touch me and so so many people are like ai is gonna take their jobs ai is gonna take my job rather than being like oh my god there's new technology how can i leverage this and that's a huge thing it's like you're gonna be scared or you're gonna be excited and anytime a new technology comes out i am so so excited because it's like bam now i know something that's going to change my business or improve my business or that's gonna keep me fresh and on the cutting edge so always remain curious curiosity is very very important and it's always important to keep learning especially in in the space of the digital world things changed daily unfortunately it changes really really fast and if you're not up to date you're not you're not doing what you're supposed to be doing right you gotta you gotta always be on and up and up and know what's going on so i hope that gave you a good idea of the entrepreneur spirit the mindset and kind of what it really takes to be an entrepreneur and if it's right for you again some people you know they like being worker bees and that's fine we need those people and if that's where you find fulfillment and you like it you like going into some people who thrive so hard on routine and that a structured job gives them that routine and that's just where they flourish know more power to them but if this is something that you're looking to do and integrate it's does take somebody with some serious backbone to being an entrepreneur and willingness to embrace it for everything that it's worth so transitioning into my next segment this one is called a failure or fun so i'm going to talk about some ideas that if they're good ideas if they're bad ideas if i should mix them as failure or say that they're you know they're a good idea so we're gonna start here's one about starting a business during a recession right and i think this all depends on the business that you're starting right you have to be in the consumer's mindset and in their head and what the consumer needs right and if they're in a session what are the things that they need and if your business your service your product isn't going to serve during that time then it's not going to thrive i mean good or bad during the pandemic people were really scared to do stuff to make moves to spend money to just do things because there was such unease in the world and unknowingly this of what was gonna happen next right so people were kind of you know stuck in place and just not doing much and a lot of people took advantage of that time i mean how many hand sanitizer brands and products came about because of that time and it's like their product was specifically built to serve the consumer during that time so you just have to be aware of the current economic state it's not a bad idea at all to start a business at any time it's just you have to be mindful of the current economic state and how your business service or product can serve the consumer during those times so another one is do we quit our great job to start our own business at the end of the day i'm always gonna say yes great job or not great job if you have it in you to wanna start your own business you will always live a life of regret if you don't actually try it if you have a great job now odds are you'll be able to get a great job further down the line if you really do tank your business venture right like you can always fall back on a good job it's it's gonna be there so many people are scared that they'll leave it and that then nothing else will come about for them and so the case honestly for me every job i ever either quit or got fired from i always ended up at a better job even if i took a bunch of time in between i always ended up somewhere better starting your own business is a really really good learning experience that will also aid in resume building right you can say you ran in your own business you started your own business and use that on your resume and for me i'm big on you know don't quit your day job until you are making good money so i like to think like i'm gonna keep working my day job that good job right in order to fund my business venture right and once my business venture starts turning a profit and enough profit to where it makes sense for me to leave i'm gonna leave so yeah quit your job but usually for me that comes at a time when your business is already doing well right i'm not sure how i feel about you've got five thousand dollars in savings you're gonna quit your job and go all in on a brand new business that you haven't even tested the market with yet right i i don't think that's a good idea mainly because you're gonna be making decisions based on making money rather than decisions that are good for the business right for me now i'll make decisions that might cost me money in the beginning but in the long run are going to make me way more money and when you're building a business and you're dependent on the income from that business you're gonna make choices and decisions based on money rather than based on what's actually good for the business in the long run so well yes i do think quitting a great job to start your own business later down the line is smart i'm not sure if i think that doing it when you've got minimal savings and you're just like gun i'm gonna do this i'm gonna make it work so yeah i'm i'm a little fifty fifty on that one buying an existing company this one is is an interesting one for me it's never it's never been in my wheelhouse i've never really thought about buying an existing company i don't think it's a bad thing it's just you would have to analyze the numbers and see if you know obviously if the business isn't in debt how much debt are they profitable are they not profitable will they be profitable i saw somewhere that amazon is still running at at a negative like they operate at a loss still and that's why they're able to get delivered to us so fast and why their prices are so much cheaper than everybody else's it's because they operate at a loss right but if you were to say like should you buy amazon like if if amazon goes up for sale like you'd be stupid not to buy amazon right so it just would have to make sense like is it a thriving business what do the numbers look like so you know i do say take risks but it's also calculated risk right are you going all in on something that you're completely unsure of maybe build up to you get to that point and just make sure it's a smart business decision and so failure or fun is changing industries later in life of failure or a fun i'm always gonna say a fun right and i think this is what happens to a lot of people who go to college they get a degree and then they're stuck in an industry that they might not even like and it's because they've got their degree in it and they're like well what else am i gonna do i will have to go back to school if i wanna do something else a big difference for an entrepreneur is i don't go to school for shit like i can change and do anything i want at this point at any point in my life right especially because i'm the type of person who i learn everything myself i'm self taught and everything and so if there's something else i wanna learn or do later on in life i'm gonna teach myself how to do it and i'm gonna do it but for the people who you know it's a little scarier they've been doing the same thing their whole life i know a lot of teachers who have been teaching for like ten plus years and they're like they don't get paid good unfortunately like teaching gets is so grossly underpaid but they're like i can't do anything else with my teaching degree i'm so like pigeon hold i'd have to go back to school if i wanna do anything else i think that you don't have to worry too much about that if you really hate your job is there's no shame and changing industries later in life i mean you could go on list and list list of people who weren't very successful until later in life anyway and you know people always think when you hit like thirty five or something like you gotta stick with where you are because you know you're in it now and that's not the case at all you can always change careers you could change your careers whenever in life i think anthony bo didn't start actually becoming like i forget what he was first know he was like a cook like a line cook i think he said he's making like forty thousand dollars a year in his fifties and then he wrote his first book and he didn't become like a millionaire till his like mid fifties and he completely shifted his entire industry and he to go to school for anything and it worked out fine for him and you're passionate about something and especially like don't just stay in a job because it's like you feel pigeon holder or this is what you have your degree in if you are not happy right just switch it up you don't have to go i mean so many people think that you have to have these like careers and you don't there are plenty of people who just drive uber and do side hustle jobs and are really really happy because they have control of their lives and they can get their own benefits in their own health insurance you can definitely change industries later in life and in fact i encourage you especially if you are not happy so guys we really got into it on what it means and what it takes to be an entrepreneur i do have one really good fan question so thank you guys so much for always leaving questions i'm always happy to answer and i have this platform now that i can give you guys way more in answers so a really good question that i get for people who are you know on the fence of becoming an entrepreneur and doing what it takes and that question is have you deal with a friends and family who think it's a bad idea or don't think that you can do it right and that can kinda come from a place where they either care about you especially your family right they might care about you they know how hard it's gonna be and they don't wanna see you fail and they don't wanna see you hurt and then a lot of times with friends it can be a little bit of the same but it also can kind of be a little bit of jealousy to be honest so during your entrepreneurial process you will come across these people it is unavoidable and it's gonna happen and you have to accept it especially family members right i still have friends and family who just don't under stand what it is that i do my mom still tells me to go back to school and get a degree in case i need something to fall back on i'm like y like i have skills like i don't need a degree i have things i can fall back on and even if i didn't like i'll just go back to bar like it's okay i don't need a degree and then you know i have so many friends who in the beginning or like you know that's not really a good idea like do you actually know what happens and it can be tough especially they always say like everybody is going to doubt you in the beginning and then everyone is gonna congratulate you at the end i know that that quote actually goes way deeper but it's so true and they're gonna they say at the whole time especially when you're first going through it and especially when you're struggling and then as soon as you succeed they're gonna be like oh my god so cool congratulations like can you show me how to do it so the whole time they were saying like that's not smart get a job do this and then it turns into like oh my god i wanna do that too so just keep that in mind that in the end your friends and family will recognize that it was a good idea and that being successful doesn't it mean you know the same structure that we're always so familiar with where it's go to school get a job and get a career and retire on your four zero one k right like you can do stuff outside of that and it's hard it is hard especially you know when you're used to people being supportive and then it turns to that they're not supportive and just keep in mind that friends sometimes it's like in their head they wish that they had of the confidence that you have to be able to go out there and do it on their own because clearly they don't because they're not doing it and sometimes it's like they don't necessarily don't want you to have it they just don't want you to have something that they don't have themselves and you just have to understand that and just know that sometimes it's not always coming from a place of either jealousy or mean sometimes it is coming from a place of caring and just they don't understand and that's okay that's gonna come with the territory it's natural and you just have to have tunnel vision and focus on okay this is a good idea i know it's gonna work i'm gonna do it even if i fail a couple times it's gonna be okay these people are gonna see me fail they're gonna tell me like okay that's it like you're failed you're done and i'm gonna keep pushing forward so just recognizing that early on that that's part of it and that's what's gonna happen can really equip you for dealing with it when it does happen so i hope you guys enjoyed this app is episode this one was really really fun for me and it's really nice refresher for me to as to why i do the the following should not be cons as financial legal or tax advice my experiences are all anecdotal and should be used as examples or inspiration for your own ventures hello anti work and welcome back to another week and another podcast episode i really hope you guys have been enjoying all of my tips and advice so far you know we don't get keep here so this episode is gonna be fun because i'm going to give you the full step by step guide on how to make six figures by barely working and how to basically be completely self employed so this is gonna be like the ultimate crash course for you guys where you're gonna learn step by step on how to make that happen and how to become a true anti work h before i get into that i just wanna touch a little bit about what's going on with me i'm headed to mexico for another speaking event i leave monday coming up i'm going to be talking about everything travel ai and what that looks like in the industry so i'm very very excited about that last speaking event i did was in vegas and i took a full advantage of that trip by spending an entire day at the spa i stayed at the conrad i think it's the newest hotel on the strip in vegas and apparently they have the best spa so naturally i had to check it out this spa had a movie theater in it it was insane i got a ninety minute facial and a ninety minute massage and lived it up i lived my best fall like for sure so in mexico i'm gonna probably also have to take advantage of this spa because i know they got one there so i will report back on how that went i also saw the barbie movie it was really fun me and a bunch of girlfriends we dressed up i mean to the nines like i had a blonde wig i was eighties prom barbie so if you can imagine the type of dress i was wearing a very extra we had like char before and drinks and we were having so much fun that we almost missed the movie because it was just so much fun dressing and acting like barbie and making cute videos and then movie was cute wasn't my favorite but it was cute it was entertaining and i'm just glad that we all dressed up and had the best time ever beforehand that's for sure without further ado let's get into it so just reiterate we're going to talk about how you could make six figures by barely working and how you can completely be self employed it's kind of kind of a new age type of thinking i know we've all heard about a four hour work week well even that is too many hours in the in the week for me i like to keep it around ten hours ten hours a month and you know this is completely without going to school without a degree without any formal training or anything like that and i'm gonna give you guys the exact formula if you will on how you can achieve that for yourself if that's something you would like to do for yourself so there's obviously a lot of benefits for working for yourself but for me you know the main benefit is time i have time for myself and the time to do whatever i want whenever i want i remember working for nine to fives and i was like fitting in getting a car wash on your lunch break because it's the only time you're able to do it it's so limiting and like your life revolves around work rather than you know the other way around i think you know work should be a part of your life but it shouldn't be your whole life so for me it's time obviously and money does come with that as well being self employed you know if you have a job or a salary you're always gonna have a salary cap right there's always a roof you're gonna hit a ceiling that you're not gonna be able to get by a company can only pay you so much and being self employed kind of enables you to you know take on as much work as you can and outsource it if you want and allows you to make as much money as possible so that's one of the the two probably main benefits and it's just you know not having to live by a boss i don't thrive under micro management whatsoever i know a lot of people do i'm not that way like if i know what needs to be done i will do it on my own time if there's a deadline don't worry i'll get it to you even if i do it in an hour right before it's supposed to be done it'll get done like i don't need anybody breathing down my back to tell me how or when to get it done by and so i see a lot of people tend to avoid you know going off on their own or working for themselves because it can seem really really hard and it's easier and more comfortable to just get a job right it's like i went to school for something i can just graduate now and get a job doing what i went to school for and that's kind of the easier rather other than like i don't know how to do all of this on my own i don't know how to actually build a business what it even does that look like what's the paperwork like oh my god my taxes so lots of benefits and lots of you know walls that you have to break to really get in the kind of mindset sets and frame of mind to be able to work for yourself but that's something we can all achieve and get over if we really want it you know some people actually do like their job and they like the corporate world and it's where they thrive and it's what they enjoy doing and you know more power to you but if you do want a different perspective and a different kind of outlook and a different way of living in life keep listening because i got you i'm gonna break it down right so here is the ultimate crash course on how you can work for yourself without any formal training without a college degree right and it's only a couple of easy steps and so i'm gonna summarize it for you and then i'll i'll break down each step a little bit more in depth so step number one is learn a digital skill okay there are so many digital skills out there that you can learn just to name a few you can do graphic design you can do website development seo you can do social media management you can do bookkeeping you can do copywriting you can do anything in the ad space so google ads tiktok ads email marketing the possibilities are endless and the beauty of these skills is they're not only are they all super high in demand they're all things you can learn yourself you can beat self teach yourself all of these online completely for free that's what i did i learned how to do facebook ads tiktok ads and email marketing all online for free without a degree without some boot camp or without some certificate and the best part about these skills too is that nobody asks you right nobody asks you if you're offering these as services where you went to school or what do you have a degree in or what certificate do you have to make you an expert in it nobody ever asks you that right if you can do it that's all that matters that's all that care about if you know it that's all that matters it's like think about a locksmith right like you don't need to know how he got it or like what his qualifications are if he can get me in my door that's all that matters so number one is learn a digital skill number two is position yourself as an expert in that skill number three is finding and booking clients right now we gotta get paid we gotta find that work and then number four this is where the ten hours a month comes in is then you out source all of the work drum roll we're not doing any of the work so yeah so learn a digital skill position yourself as an expert in that skill find and book clients and then outsource all of the work so let's break it down i kind of already gave you a little brief on how you can learn a digital skill you can go over to you what i call many other people call it this too but it's called youtube university it's just where you go on to youtube and you learn stuff and give yourself your own crash course you can even have chat gp you can have ai build you a curriculum to teach yourself basically how to learn any of these skills i did it the other day for google ads because google ads is one of the main services that's weird that i don't offer because i'm big in the advertising space it's just not my wheelhouse i'm a social ads gal not search engine ads so i was like maybe i should learn a little bit more about google ads so i asked chat gp to create a curriculum for me a thirty day curriculum for me break it down and it did a really good job of doing that but it also was kinda like watch videos and it's like i don't need you to tell me to watch videos i can watch videos i need you to point me in the direction of which videos to watch so chat g kind of slack there and i took that same question over to per complexity ai which is another chatbot very similar to chat except it sources everything for you right so i took that same question and it laid out a thirty day curriculum for me and and then it actually linked which videos i need to watch on youtube so super cool you can give yourself your own crash course have ai help you navigate that you do have to be a little disciplined to self disciplined but if you're willing and able to do it you can learn anything you can learn anything and chat gp and ai make it so much easier i also had after all of that it give me like a quiz like okay now that i've finished this curriculum i feel like i'm very knowledgeable and well versed can you quiz me give me a hundred a hundred question quiz ask me some questions that i might get asked in an interview for google ads just so i'm i'm well equipped and well prepared and obviously give me the answers too so that i know you know if i'm answering them correctly so super cool super easy i feel like this is just the beginning ai is gonna help us so much more in learning this stuff and make it that much easier so i'm i'm excited for that but any of those skills i listed you know you can learn online for free and a lot of skills you don't even realize our digital skill are for instance like bookkeeping it's totally digital if you can do it on your computer and you don't have to be somewhere like on sight it's a digital skill so anything you can do like virtual assistant anything like that video editing i mean the list goes on and on it's a digital skill and like i said you can learn it you'll learn it things a lot quicker if you teach it yourself and you don't waste your time going to school and taking classes like humanities that really aren't gonna teach you anything that's going to exceed in your your business life right so that is learn a digital skill step number two is position yourself as an expert right so now we've learned the digital skill right we've learned it front to back we got it we know what we're talking about we know what we're doing you have to position yourself as an expert you have to become the go to person in that skill because you're gonna have to book clients and they're gonna want to see that you know what you're doing that you're actually credible and how you do that is you build a website for yourself once again ai makes this very easy for us you can use durable you can use ten web it'll literally take you thirty seconds to build a website for yourself that you can customize and build out for yourself that has you know a breakdown of who you are what services you offer and any showcases of work that you've done so you need to build a website first and foremost you need to build out your social channels so facebook page a linkedin page and instagram page a tiktok even if you can build out those if you already have personal ones and you don't wanna convert those build out new ones it doesn't matter if you don't have a lot of followers that's not the point the point is is that when you're applying to offer these services that clients can look you up click on you know your little email signature and see that you've got this foundation that you you're fully built out you're committed to this that this is who you are this is what you do right if you just have like a this is who i am but you know nothing else really behind you it's kind of hard to present yourself as an expert so website social media channels it's all super easy and don't overthink it like i said you don't need a lot of followers just do twenty posts you can post them in one day all one right after the other just so you have something something on there and that's really all that matters try to post often as you can but really gonna help you can also have chat help you with a social media strategy for your skills and services it's gonna lay it all out for you you can use things like zapier that will actually integrate into chat and you could be like hey create a social media strategy for me i am now an seo expert here's what my website looks like you can link it to the website and be like you need to create a social media strategy for me that has five posts a week and then go ahead and implement said social media strategy and it's gonna go ahead and do all that for you so so all of this used to it's it was still easy right it just used to take more time so now you can get this up and going in like a day which is crazy it's awesome and it's crazy and the thing is is that it might sound like okay well if it's this easy everybody's gonna be doing it right and the problem is is that they're not this is something i always get when it's like if a client ever asks me to sign an nda before we start talking i'm always like red flag because it's like first of all i doubt what you have in there is something so proprietary that it's just going to blow all of our socks off and that everybody's gonna wanna copy it right of everybody copies everything anyway at the end of the day it takes the person to actually go ahead and execute it and that's where everybody falls short is execution part rate people don't actually get up off their asses and do shit like they just don't so you can say all day that like oh this is so easy everybody's gonna do it they don't they just don't so the people who are gonna actually do it it's just a lot easier for you now so if we move along onto to step three it's finding and booking clients right this is the hardest part i cannot stress this enough this is the hardest part always always always and if you ask any freelancer or anybody they will say like this bar none hardest part and we think like okay i learned everything i got everything set up i'm an expert now i did mock up case studies of work i'm capable of producing now that i've learned this skill i have everything in place it looks great money's gonna roll in that's not the case right you actually have to you know how do you get people to actually care how do you actually get people to pay you money that's the hard part right so finding and booking clients this is my go to strategy i go on to upwork linkedin and indeed and i have separate strategies on all three of those platforms but indeed and upwork are pretty similar except upwork is all contract work right so you're just gonna be applying to jobs that are all relevant for you contract remote wise well where indeed has some salary positions on there as well but you can filter it out by contract work only and what you're gonna do is you're going to apply for every single proposal that is listed on those sites that are relevant to your skill every single one you need to get to the end of upwork you need to get to the end of indeed you need to apply to every single one and the kicker is you have to have custom cover letters for each and every single submission you just have to do it that's what's going to if you wanna get booked over other people don't copy and paste your cover letter right you have to have to have to have to do some sort of personalization to what they requested in their listing so all of those sites are really really good to find clients that's where i find all of my clients that does take some time right that setup does take some time but once you start getting a couple clients it becomes easier and easier and then what you do is you just start getting referrals right so i don't really even have to look on these sites anymore to get clients i just have all of my current clients send me referrals which means i don't have to do any client acquisition whatsoever because a referral is the easiest to sell by far so that covers finding and booking clients we move on to step four which is my favorite and it is outsourcing all of the work that's right you don't do any of the work for me what i do is i'm just now serving as quality control and client facing right so i'm the one that the client usually talks to and i make sure that all work going out is of quality which really equates to about ten hours a month and that's that's with a lot of clients i have a lot of clients and i outsource all the work and so how i do that is i go on to fiber it's a similar site to upwork where it's all contract work except it's it's much more competitive i feel they do have people from overseas so rates are really really cheap i'm talking like five dollars now in the philippines for like quality work my personal preference is to have freelancers in the us just because for time zone purposes and for communication purposes it just it's my flow but i know plenty of people who outs source the work to other countries and they perform amazing work and it's like you know opportunities that these people wouldn't have had anywhere else other than being able to access it online and you know that can get tricky right outsourcing the work is kind of a hurdle a mental hurdle we have to get over for ourselves so i always suggest outsourcing right from the get go so you get in the head space because when i started i didn't even know that this was going to turn into a full business i didn't know that i was gonna start outsourcing the work i didn't know any of this and i had really really wished i had outsourced right from the beginning and that's because it was hard to outsource once you're making money right you're like oh like i'm making all this money i can't bring on more clients because i'm only one person right so i have to pay somebody else to help me but now i'm gonna lose money right because i'm giving it to somebody else to do the work and that was really a struggle to get over but i mean there's just no way you can scale you cannot scale on your own you have to you have to hire out you have to hire help and what actually ends up happening is you find out that you've got more time and you start making more money because you're focused on bringing and the money bringing on the clients rather than doing the work so what there you have it that is a step by step guide ultimate crash course on how you can work for yourself and how you can do it for totally for free all of these things i talk about are free learning the skill free building a website free building social channels free applying to all of these clients free outsourcing work doesn't cost you anything i don't start outsourcing until i have a client that's paid me so doesn't it cost you anything to do any of this so no money out of pocket you can do all of this stuff on the side while working your full time job that's what i did i built this up on the side for myself while working full time until i felt comfortable to where i could quit my job which was the vest day of my life and go a full steam ahead with this so there you have it so moving into my next segment this is gonna be one of my signature segments moving forward and i know i've done it in one of my previous episodes and it's called don't be afraid of ai as you can see i listed why ai is so valuable and so important when you're working for yourself and in the crash course that i just gave you guys so how you can really take advantage of ai and not only scale your business you can also scale your personal life too and this is a lot of people aren't thinking about it for their personal life and i feel like that's one of my favorite parts of ai that i can use it for my personal life i use it for grocery list meal prepping i use it as a personal assistant it has access to my emails into my calendar so i really treat it like it's a personal assistant and everything i need or have questions about i just turned to chat or i turn to per complexity ai i i live and breathe by my ai like it's transformed in my life i went from making thirty thousand dollars a month of my business to making over six figures a month in my business because i've integrated ai and and scaled my business and automating it so there was this article by a harvard ai guru room that was talking about how all businesses especially small businesses should be using ai and it should be an integral part in all of their operations and i just fully agree with that i think that it can make your life easier you should implement it and it's not that ia is here to replace us as humans i truly believe it's here to enhance us and to make our lives better by you know fast forwarding through all of the tedious work that you know it's busy work it's data entry work that type of stuff why should a human sit around and do that that is not fulfilling work by any means and so just fast foe literally so like hitting a fast forward or button like okay now we're onto to the next thing and there's always gonna be a human element that needs to be in place somebody's gotta operate this ai right so definitely don't be afraid of ai it's here to help us our lives are gonna get better i mean that's like you know being afraid of back in the day the internet or back in the day electricity people were scared of electricity they thought our brains are gonna we're gonna fry because of electricity and not you know it didn't happen and it's it's scary because it's new but it's only going to improve our lives significantly and make things i feel like technology is gonna advance so so much quicker because of it we'll probably be living on mars by next month only kidding but i i do see that as you know happening pretty soon and i think ai is going to help us and make it happen for us so moving right along guys i do at the end towards the end of each episode i really wanna get into answering all of your questions you guys leave me so many good questions and a lot of times i'm not able to really get into the nitty gritty of answering them so i'm so glad that i have this platform and i'm able to answer them here for you guys and really really get into it so thank you guys for always asking these questions please continue to submit them so i can keep answering them for you so let's see okay here's a really good one if everyone stopped having jobs and careers what would the world look like this is a good question and i don't think that that would necessarily happen as i mentioned i do believe that some people do thrive in that in careers or in jobs they like it that's where they thrive that's that's how they feel good about themselves some people need to be micro managed and that's how they operate and that's how they like to operate and i don't think we would see a complete disappearance of that right i do think we will see a lot more jobs getting outsourced to freelancers especially after the pandemic i think a lot of companies realized that they don't necessarily need all these in house employees that they can outsource a lot of the work and then not even have to pay them a full salary or benefits and i think that we're gonna see a massive shift in a lot of stuff getting outsourced especially marketing especially things like bookkeeping hr those types of things so we'll still need people to do them i just think we'll see a shift from in house to freelancer type of relationships and businesses i mean my entire business runs on freelancers i don't have anybody in house it's all freelancers and it works really well for me and it works really well for them because that's what they like they can take on more work if they want i have no time schedules for them they can do the work whenever they want however they want and it works out good for everybody so and that's just one of those fear monitoring thing right well what's gonna happen the world's gonna end no jobs no careers like it's not as crazy and chaotic as it's perceived gonna be right it's gonna be okay like it's gonna be okay and it's not gonna be some massive overnight shift where we wake up one morning and life as we know it is different it's gonna be something that we you know adapt and start to pick up and start to integrate and you know move into rather than you know like a culture shock oh my god everyone's jobs are gone it'll be something that we adapt we we adapt with everything and we come out stronger for it so another question is do the amount of friends who live paycheck to paycheck get smaller the more money you make very interesting question and i know that that does happen a lot especially with entrepreneurs you start to level up your friend groups you start to level up your circles you start networking and getting introduced the higher paying clients you have the more higher paying people you start to meet and you start to surround yourself with i wouldn't say the amount of friends who live for me personally who live paycheck to paycheck get smaller once i made more money it does kinda shift the relationship as to where i just don't really bring up income or money or anything like that it's also still pretty fresh for me you know my business was making ten thousand dollars a month the thirty thousand dollars a month now six figures a month and that kind of all happened within two ish years so it's still pretty fresh to me i will say i definitely do surround myself because i've been introduced to people who like are level up than me and it it really really helps right so you know there was a threshold in my business crossing for me was like oh my god i'm making ten thousand dollars a month like that's gonna be like i've made it like i've made it in life i'm making ten thousand dollars a month right and then it's like you hit that threshold and you get introduced to people who make way more than that and you're like oh my god i'm only making like ten thousand dollars a month i feel silly and then you know you hit another threshold six figures a month and i know people who are doing what i do and make seven figures a month so to me now it feels like and because i'm just surrounded by it right it's like everybody else pretty much that i know in this space is doing better than me and so it's like i'm the lowest hanging fruit i'm the lowest person on the tote pole to them it's like i'm the one who's living paycheck to paycheck and so it does help because once you see that it's possible that other people are doing it it becomes a lot easier for you to do it there's an example that i've heard a lot of people used before and it's the i hope this is right the four mile minute like before running a mile in four minutes was impossible nobody could do it it was just this unrealistic goal that just nobody could nobody could over like achieve and then somebody did it right sorry i don't know the person's name my brother law's is probably very upset because he's like a giant marathon but i just don't know it and so once he ran that mile in four minutes i think i was like two weeks later somebody else did it and that's because that roadblock in your head that said it's not possible was lifted it's like it is possible so i can do it too and so that's really what helps when you surround yourself with other people who are a level higher than you it shows that where you are you know isn't that high and that you can always go higher and that it's really really possible because looking at around everyone else is doing it so really great questions one really good question that i get from you guys a lot is okay so i've started out i've learned everything i gave myself a really good crash course on youtube university but people and clients wanna see experience right they they don't wanna just know that you've learned all about it they want to see you know what you've done like showcase your work like how do i show them a portfolio how do i show them case studies when i have done and that's a great question because you are right they do wanna see work and they do wanna see you know a portfolio what you're capable of doing and so i have very a lot of tips and tricks for that right so number one a tip that i question people are gonna see that you've only maybe been doing this for a short while i like to make sure i throw that out there in my cover letter it's like a dressing that in the room and you can tweak that as a positive rather than a negative you say i am fresh in the game i don't have any old hang ups or bad habits from previous clients like i know what's hot right now because i've learned it right now and i don't use the old techniques i use what's happening now i have a script for that that i've sent out in my newsletters too but actually you know says it a lot more eloquently than i'm saying it now but you get the gist and then also what you can do it depends on the skill you're offering right so say if the skill you're offering is copy right you don't need to actually have paid work to show what you're capable of producing say you want to do blog posts you wanna do website copy you want to do email copy you can say like hey i have the hotel marriott as an example and here is a blog post i would write for marriott here is website copy i would write for marriott here is what an email would look like for marriott so you could do like hospitality you could do restaurants you could do all sorts of different business industries and show examples of what you're capable of producing right and then if you've got something like for instance like me i'm in the ad space and they wanna see previous examples of work like you know how well did you do for previous clients i need to know so this is what i suggest you can do work for friends and family you can say hey friends and family i just learned how to do facebook ads i'm gonna be super amazing at it i'll do it for free for you if you guys cover the advertising spend like it's gonna promote your business you guys are gonna get great results and it's gonna be free work and just in return i'm able to use that as a case study if you don't have any friends and family that are willing to do that you can always run ads for your itself so i did a whole video on how to do a facebook ad of yourself where you are now an expert in facebook ads right so run ads to generate lee for yourself you can do that with your face you can do that with slideshow videos there are plenty of agencies in consulting firms that don't use their face as the ad right what i did was just like hey i'm laura anderson i facebook ads yada yada i'll give you a free audit give me your email and so i got a bunch of emails that way and i reached out to them and i closed four of those client i think i got sixteen leads that and i closed four of those clients and then i was able to use that as a case study i didn't say like here look a case study of myself i said here is a case study for a client that i did lead generation from and so those are all really good tips and tricks to get out there and show what you're capable of producing or show you know some sort of air quotes experience so guys thank you so so much those questions were amazing keep keep giving them and thank you guys so much for listening it always means the absolute world to me you guys are the reasons why i'm here and why i do what i do so please don't forget to follow rate and review the seven day weekend wherever you get your podcast and make sure to follow me on all my socials at digital laura anderson dot com again i love reading the following should not be cons as financial legal or tax advice my experiences are all anecdotal and should be used as examples or inspiration for your own ventures hello hello anti work h another friday another podcast episode so welcome back i'm so happy you guys are here i hope you've had a great week so far and that this podcast can set the tone for your weekend and your work coming up today on the pod we're going to be talking about a very fun topic that can get kind of controversial but it's a lot of fun and it's lazy ways to make money some ways how you can make ten thousand dollars a month by you know being fairly lazy but before we get into all the fun controversy i am inclined to share with you guys a story that happened to me earlier today that has just thrown me for a total loop today losing my mind i thought i was almost going to die i had serious case that i'm surprised maybe somebody recorded it if they recorded it please share it with me if you saw this happen but it was a serious case of road rage that i thought really only happened in movies so i was very shaken up but i just have to get it off my chest and tell you guys about it because it was it was crazy so i was driving my car and she was driving her car and we came to an intersection in inside of a shopping center where i did have a stop sign and she did not have one right so i pull up i stop and then she stops and i'm like gosh this girl is understand she doesn't have a stop sign and so i'm like sitting there waiting and she doesn't go so i was like okay well she's assuming she's got a stop sign so i'm just gonna go so of course then as soon as i start to go she starts to go and we were like half of an inch of touching each other right so obviously no contact but still and like i you know threw my arms up in the air like what's wrong with you she's did the same thing like what's wrong with me what's wrong with you and so like i you know skirt past her and go around her and i see from my rearview view mirror no joke seen out of a movie it was like skirt and she turns around to chase me down and i'm like oh shit and so i get to a light and i'm like booking it i try to get out and so i'm in a main intersection now trying to turn but there's cars in front of me she cuts a car behind me and pulls up so she's next to me and blocking me in front of my car this woman gets out of her car and starts screaming and she screaming to me and i live in florida so i don't know who or who does it have like carrying weapons with them but i was freaking out and she's beating on my window people are honking in their horns and she's like cursing at me to roll down my window and i was like you know like you need to like get out of my way and i was like basically because i was scared i was like oh my god sorry sorry sorry and this is what really got so not only was i terrified then she starts to insult my car she called my car a piece of ten thousand dollar crap and at first i was like terrified but then i was like excuse me excuse me my car and if you don't know this about me i am a mini cooper ent i live and breathe and die by my mini cooper i've had three now it's all i'll ever drive because i'm obsessed with them my first mini cooper i got when i graduated high school i had saved up a bunch of money it was like six thousand dollars for this really old mini cooper but man i drove that thing for for years and it was amazing so i'm on my third mini cooper now and i was just self offended that she would insult my car like that meanwhile she's in her beat up whatever but i was like oh my gosh not the mini cooper like how dare you and so finally people were honking enough to where she got back in her car and just eventually left but it was trauma to say the lease but by far the most trauma part was that she insulted my car and i was like you know what this is my fun car because i also have a mercedes for my baby so anytime i need to take my baby somewhere we drive them mercedes but the mini cooper is my fun car but it is also the car that id deem is far superior if i were to win the lottery and i could get my dream car i would just be like a super soup up mini cooper because they're the most fun car to drive if you haven't driven one i highly recommend it they call it like the street legal go kart for a reason because it's just just so much fun to drive i drive very dirty in it and i say it's not me that's driving dirty it's the car because it's just so tiny you can just zoom and out anywhere so had to get it off my chest but and also the mini cooper community is very like we got each other's back like we see each other we waved to each other and so we we like our mini cooper so don't insult the minis let's get into the topic of the day now that i've gotten that off of my chest which is lazy ways to make money so i do share a lot of tips and tricks on ways to make money outside of the corporate world because as we all know i am an anti work alcoholic and i encourage others to do so so by doing that we work efficiently work smarter and not harder and we can't do that in the corporate world where we are forced to work forty hours a week so i'm gonna run through some examples of ways that you can make money even if you're not tech savvy at all from the comfort of your own home if you wanna start off as a side hustle which is what i always recommend that's what i did i started off as a side hustle built it up to where i could leave my job and go all in with you know these lazy ways to make money lazy way to make money number one and this i did create a tiktok video on it went viral and it had a lot of controversy because this is copywriting and you can make money copywriting and a lot of people might get confused if you're confused about what copywriting is like you think it's some legal jargon what copy writing is is just anything that's the written form so if there is a website product descriptions website description the seo form and ad creative has writing on it that is copy so anything in the written form is copy and a person that creates that copy is considered a copy and the work of it is considered copy writing right and so if you're not familiar with chat gp which if you're on this podcast odds are are but if you're not chat gp is a ai software that is essentially a very advanced predict a text that can write anything and everything in very sophisticated form and so even before chat gp there were things like copy dot a which i had been using and that i had known a friend of mine to be using that he just offers copywriting right only copywriting services and he's making twenty thousand dollars a month and he is doing that by using he was using at a time copy ai odyssey he's probably using chad gp now and off offering copywriting writing services he would have clients that would pay him fifteen hundred dollars a month to three thousand dollars a month to write their copy it was primarily for their emails right so business they've got emails they've got the layout in the template but they need the copy right they need the written form for it and they need it to be witty they needed to convey sales without being sales and they needed it to be on brand right and so what you can do is use these copywriting software chat copy ai no i'm not sponsored by any of these i get no money by recommending these just so you're aware i use them because i'm obsessed with them and because they make me money but you can use those software to write copy and produce really really well written copy that it's on brand for your clients and make money that way like i said he this was a while ago he was making twenty thousand dollars off i know he makes more now the workload he does once it's set up so right you train these ai chatbot bots to learn a brand right so you feed it everything about a brand what their goal is their main products their customer pain points and then you're saying okay based on all of this information we need you to write an email given that it's summertime highlighting the following products and it'll write off the email for you so once you've done that i mean that copy probably takes thirty seconds to two minutes to do and he's charging clients a significant amount of money and that's because the copy that he writes performed so well that it return leads to a bunch of sales for the client so he is able to make a lot of money that way because the service he provides in turn provides a lot of profit if you draft up an email that generates you know six thousand dollars in sales paying you two thousand dollars doesn't seem like a lot of money so that is a really great way and probably the easiest la way to make money you can book these clients on upwork linkedin and indeed you don't have to have any copywriting experience whatsoever my friend didn't have copywriting experience he just uses these software but he's gotten really efficient on them which is easy to do it does take a little bit of time which is why these companies don't just do it for themselves right it's because it is still a task that is and a skill that is acquired and learned and needs to get compensated for to produce but once it's you know it's like a locksmith right the locksmith will come over to your house charge you six hundred dollars for two minutes of work to get into your house and you're like why am i charged six hundred dollars for two minutes of your work and it's like because you're paying for all the time and the skill that took him to be able to produce that so that is a really really great example of and he's obviously making way more money and you can make way more money than that too and copy you need copy for everything like i said websites great seo copy emails pamphlets anything in the written form is copy that clients brands need to have so moving on to the next one this is email creation and this is a little bit of what i do for my clients so i do email management for my clients also no formal education on email management something i learned along the way the minimum i charge for email management is twenty five hundred dollars a month and that's for the bare bones they get an email campaign a week essentially if they want more email campaigns i have some clients that pay me eight thousand dollars a month for email management and creating these emails right so not only am i doing the copy which i use chat gp or copy ai for you also have to build out the template make it look pretty right and given an ai now that's super easy you can use mid journey and you can use cam canvas has so many email templates you just upload your client's photos plug it into the templates use chat to write the copy i did a tiktok video on this where i took you through all the steps and it took tiktok videos are three minutes so the whole process took under three minutes to do one video i mean one email sorry so just think of it that way three minutes to do one email they get three to four emails a a month they're paying twenty five hundred dollars a month you can do the math and i mean takes less than you know an hour to do all over the work for the entire month and they're going to be creating way more right so all of these ai software have really only been out for i mean it it hasn't even been a year that these have been out chat hasn't been live for a year so the fact that we're getting all of these ai software this good this fast i mean just think of what we're gonna have in the next year so there will be really good email creation ai software out there that'll will do everything in one make it seamless and it'll get to the point where you're like here's a link to the client's website we need an email about summertime make it happen and it'll just do it right it you won't have to use a template you won't have to plug and play you'll just tell it what you want give it the link to the brand and be done and the quicker you are with getting on board with the technology now the quicker you will be to get on the better tuck technology later on and just keep you ahead of the curve and be able to monetize it way faster than the people who lag on it so that's a great one nothing really lazy way to make money that i heard of another i call them colleagues because we're all in the same industry right and we've done some work together so another colleague of mine now offers he used to be a teacher he's not a teacher anymore because unfortunately teachers don't make money so he started doing some digital downloads of tutoring pamphlets right and what he does is he does ai custom ai tutoring lesson plans for students so he'll have students come to him and be like i need this lesson plan i need to learn you know sat or something like that and he'll create a customized lesson plan for them using ai and the the students will be like i'm great on these topics but i struggle with these topics and he'll put together a lesson plan that probably takes them about ten minutes per lesson plan based on the customization using ai and you know he sells them for hundreds of dollars and i mean takes you know ten minutes per customized lesson plan using ai he uses chat gp for that so you can do ai personal tutoring even if you know nothing on the topic nothing on the topic you can become the einstein of this subject and then sell it because you know sometimes chat cheap tea can fudge up but you could fact check it just make sure you do your due diligence if you're charging people money don't be you know obviously these are lazy ways to make money but don't be that lazy you know you still have to produce quality work so just always back check it which also isn't very hard so that's a great way to make money very easily along with that there's also professional language translation for businesses you know plenty of businesses need their ads their emails or their website translated per professionally into another language and a lot of times if you don't speak the native language and you do things like google translate it'll come off in a way that's you know formal and literal translation rather than how they speak in their native tongue you know if we say a phrase the literal translation in another language just does it make sense but with chat gp it takes into account those nuances and it'll feed out the translation perfectly and even the way to check that is once you've translated something into chat ep in another language you copy a paste it into google translation and if it makes sense in english like perfectly you know you've got something good even try those nuances even try those weird phrases and see what happens but it translates insanely perfect so good and there's new plugins now it's called code interpreter where you can even have it like speak the language too and so you can hear it once you've had it written out you can also speak it and say i'm gonna tell you this i need you to write it out for me in spanish so very very valuable asset to have again i'll have a lot of you guys come at me about like well why couldn't businesses do this for themselves the answer is always they can do this for themselves and a lot of times they do do this for themselves but a lot of times they outsource the work look at me i'm making six figures a month because companies outsource their work to me you go into places like up upwork linkedin and indeed you will see hundreds of posts for brands and clients looking for people to do these services so yes they could pay somebody in house to do it so but a lot of times they outsource the work the majority of the time they outsource the work so another great lazy way to make money moving right along we wanna get into selling digital products so this includes digital downloads like i mentioned the colleague who he does ai tutoring but this is digital products because that's that's customized but digital products can be broad you can download anything there's this girl who's on tiktok i forget her name but she's like the excel girl and she does all of these digital downloads on how to get really proficient and excel and she's made millions doing it millions you take a niche that you're somewhat not even somewhat good or experienced at but something that you enjoy thinking and talking about you can use ai a chat to help you outline and do the scope of these digital products what digital products are are you know a guide or instructions or it's sometimes you know a calendar i've seen you know christian calendars that's sell so much and because they've got you know specific things that speak to them or speak to a customer specifically that makes them wanna purchase it and you can upload these onto etsy or have your own store and drive traffic to it with seo or google ads but sc etsy is a great place to get free traffic or even amazon the beauty about digital downloads is that once you create it that's all that there was was your time was it took you to create it and then it becomes very passive especially if it's on etsy on amazon and you get a couple of sales and then it's at the top of the search because it's niche there's a lot of guides on how to deal with anxiety and someone did a guide to dealing with panic attacks so it just narrowed it down and niche it down and she sold because on etsy shows you how many they've sold and she had sold something like over three hundred thousand within a couple of weeks and it was just a guide on how to navigate when you're having a panic attack that you could probably easily draft or come up with with chat gb and then once you've done that it's it's very passive right it's it's selling on its own you've already done the work there's no more additional work to do especially if it's on etsy you don't have to deal with customer service they do all of that so digital products digital downloads are a great great lazy way to make money that become very passive and not to mention they're free right all cost you was your time to make it it was free so you know there's no product cost or anything involved with that which is very very cool as opposed to other products which you know money and capital is involved so if we move right along another great way that i'm seeing now that ai is readily available is becoming a virtual assistant and i know virtual assistants have been around for a while but we are seeing the lazy way of becoming a virtual assistant rise because of all of these ai software these integrations these automations if you're somebody that needs everything integrated into chat gb like me or earned into ai you can use zapier it integrates chat g into everything so your email i have it into my clients email accounts it integrates into everything so my google docs my google slides my google sheets into my facebook into my social platforms literally anywhere i would need ai i have it integrated because i use zapier and for a virtual assistant you could make that really easy when it's streamlined and automated my bookkeeping everything and so now you can tell chat gp to do things rather than explain things and then you going to have to do them right because that's what a virtual assistant does is right is you let an assistant know everything you need that gets that needs to get done and they go and do it so now with chat and ai you can tell it what you need to do and it'll do it for you so really really cool virtual assistance get paid a lot of money especially if they're good so that's really cool another one is what i do and or what a lot of people are doing i mean it's what i do in a sense but another thing is that i'm seeing is being a service flipper and what that is is i mean for me i'm not really a flipper because i'm involved where it's like i offer a service but then i pay somebody else to do that service for the client right but what i'm seeing a lot of service flipper do is they will find a service on fiber offer it for more money as they are the you know finder the recruiter the middleman and then turn it into you know essentially commission so for example this was a a service that i offered in addition to the services that i offer for my clients right is gifts or gifs or whatever you wanna say g i f s i say gifts right so when i started my course i was like oh i need to have gifts of myself like ten hour ten k work month hashtag seven day weekend gifts for social media where anybody is that uses these gifts or gifs or whatever and i was like i was about to start trying to figure out how to do it for myself and i was like nah like i'm just gonna find somebody on five to do it so i found somebody on fiber to do it had like two thousand reviews and examples of work and charged like a hundred and fifty dollars for five gifts or gifts right i had to tell him like here's the photos that i need you know transparent background i need to move and here's the vibe i'm going for so there was a little bit of communication back and forth but i think he delivered in three days five gifts already uploaded to gi so i could access them right away and use them created the gi account for me super simple and i was like man i was like i bet all of my clients would love gifts and i was like i can use this guy to do that if i offer it to all my clients so i told my clients you know it was six hundred bucks if they wanna do it i'll have to facilitate and do this back and forth i pay him what he asks which is a hundred and fifty dollars and there you go so it's essentially service flipping right where it's like you find a good service you find somebody who does it really really well for a decent amount of price and then you go out there and do the work of finding people who need this service and then you take a percentage of it you can automate that you can get plenty of emails to do cold outreach to on apollo dot i o they're free emails what it does is it's scraped to linkedin for these emails so you can cold outreach emails to these people you can set that up with zapier to email out all of these people for you so that you are not doing any of the work and then once you get in contact with them you know sell the surface to them and make the exchange and there you go easy peasy lemon sq so that was a lot i think i covered a lot of really great ways to make money very lazy i would say for me copywriting is one that i mean you don't even have to have any experience whatsoever because chat g is so good and so amazing that anybody could do the copyright anybody could do that there was one that was also similar to ai tutoring where you can become a personal nutrition and fitness coach which is similar you know you create intake for clients right you say hey i'm a personal nutrition and fitness coach ask chad say hey i'm a personal nutrition and fitness coach create an intake form for me to give to clients and it'll create an intake form for you you can then give that to potential clients or customers they'll fill it out and then based on the intake form you tell chat gp to then build a nutrition meal plan along with recipes and a grocery list and then a fitness plan based on whatever it is they filled out and i mean a lot of times it'll be better than an actual person because sometimes actual people have biases and while chat supposedly may or may not have biases not like a human does and so it it can actually come out better and for this again i know a lot of people will be like well they can just do this for themselves then right like why wouldn't a person just do this for themselves rhett use chat gb to do their own intake form at all this stuff and it's like you can sit here and tell me and asking me that all day but people will pay money for anything anything that they don't have to do right starbucks is a billion dollar brand for doing the simplest task that anybody on the face of the earth can do for themselves make a cup of coffee and it's not even convenient you have to leave your home to go get that cup of coffee but people just don't wanna do it they want a starbucks cup of coffee and so you know you can say all day that people can do with them ourselves and plenty of people will but plenty of people will also pay somebody else to do it for them and then you can make it look pretty you can make these plans and guides look pretty putting them into canvas and making nice templates out of them lots of ways to make more bang themselves for your buck so those you know pretty much cover a decent amount of lazy ways to make money so if we wanna get into a little bit deeper into the nitty gritty of what it actually takes and things that might come about when doing these things and making money the lazy way so there can be controversy about it right people don't like to hear that you're lazy and making good money right they they don't think it's fair especially if they're working really hard right and and i get that that that could be i mean i was just talking earlier to a friend who she's a teacher and she works so hard and she's been doing it for ten years and she doesn't get paid well she doesn't get compensated well at all for all of the hard work she does so for me when it's like i'm teaching you how to make ten thousand dollars a month a very lazy way it can be frustrating it can be very frustrating for those of you that actually put in a lot of time and you know are paid fairly so let's get into some topics that might have a little bit of controversy or just a little bit deeper so as far as like a service flipper goes and things that i do like i off for digital marketing services but i outsourced the work right and that word has seemed to be very triggering outsource i think you believe that when i say outsource the work i have some sweat shop somewhere of people that are working for pennies while on making all of the money and that's not the case at all all of my freelancers that i work with are all us based they all get paid very very well some of them are making around eighty dollars an hour where some of them make more money than i do off of the client each client is different and it's it's always based on the rates that they ask for right so i find them on fiber like i said i found the guy who makes gifts on fiber i don't h them for their prices he said he charges a hundred and fifty dollars and i have to pay that through fiber so it's not like i'm i'm you know searching the web for for cheap labor right it's a mutually beneficial relationship right they are looking for work they have their personal rates and they are wanting to get compensated for that and so i facilitate that for them by providing the work that they they need or they want so for that can get a little controversial also there are i know a lot of people that outsource work and they do outsource it overseas right to india or the philippines and you can find a lot of those people on fiber and the thing is is that they actually do great work this is why i never recommend finding work on fiber i always recommend finding work on upwork linkedin and indeed because on fiber you're competing against people who are very very good skilled and doing a fantastic job but they're asking five dollars an hour right it's like how in the us can we compete with that right we we can't work for five dollars an hour but they can and they can produce really good work and i i don't necessarily see anything wrong with that because five dollars in the philippines for them usd is good money and it's a lot of times more money than what they're able to make working in the philippines so while it's not my personal choice i used us freelancers mainly because it's easier for communication and time zone it's just easier it's just systematically works better for me but i also don't i don't knock you know helping people in other countries and giving them work that they're able to have a better life than what they would have had if they are working in the country they're they're living in so that can get a little controversial for you guys i hope that that kind of gives you a better understanding of when i say outsourcing you know i'm just talking about hiring contract workers it's funny because you never hear a controversy of you know if there's a a general contractor who does who's going to renovate your home right and what they do is they oversee all the other paid contractors right the general contractor usually doesn't do any of the work they scout and source other people to do the work for them and oversee it they make sure that they're the ones who deal with the communication make sure that the freelance contractors get paid and get the job done and make sure it's executed properly and so in that case nobody's like oh you're taking advantage of these contractors right like no like that's just how it operates somebody has to get paid to overseas thinks and somebody's gotta get paid to do the work it's a it's a work your way up system right so you know i i get a lot of times where people try to tell me that oh these poor people that i offer freelance work to like they should just cut me out and take the whole thing for themselves you know first of all they don't wanna do that why why bite they hand that feed you and second of all sometimes they'd hate dealing with clients they don't wanna do it they would rather be on the side where they don't have to talk they do their work and they're done and that's it dealing with clients can be tough and also it's a work your way up system right so i started the same way they started where it was booking freelance work and then i worked my way up to become the person who and i relied on people like me to find work and then i worked my way up i was able to and i've had freelancers that i've hired worked their way up to where they no longer need me and obviously i am all for it and i encourage it so yeah i hope that puts the outsourcing controversy to to rest another thing we can touch on this isn't a controversy one but this is just an efficiency tips and tricks for you guys and it's automate everywhere that you can i can't stress this enough especially with ai enabling us to automate things just automate it wherever you can automate your emails automate your social media you know posting on my social media is it necessarily gonna bring me in a new client but it has to get done i have to post on my social media so automate where you can right either have somebody do it for you if you can pay them or do it all at once batch it and so you're good for two weeks yeah i can't stress set enough automate automate automate also invest in your skills right so many people think that you have to go to school to learn something or a trade school to learn a trade and you don't you can learn anything for free online so invest in skills invest in your own skills learn more about you know anything that you're currently doing or offering or learn more about it there are tons of free resources out there there's always more ways to learn you can have chat create a lesson plan for you i actually had it create a google ads lesson plan for me i have a course and in my course i sell the ultimate guide to ai and so one of the things i asked chat gb to do was to create a lesson plan to learn google ads i did you know like a thirty day lesson plan i had to break it down day by day even have rest days and how long each thing needs to take have it do a quiz for me at the end really really good so you can learn anything a new skill anywhere really really cool and then the last tip that i want to reiterate to you guys is use your network right a lot of people underestimate the the power of referrals and just talking to people when i started out you know i had a bit of a pastor syndrome but i would still just tell everybody what it is that i do and even when i was busting my ass bart on the side i was like oh i do digital marketing like i own my own digital marketing thing which you know i did but you know i wasn't raking in the dough from it because obviously i was working still on the side but i told everybody i knew asked them like hey have you ever had digital marketing like have you ever considered it or you know what is it that you do do you guys use to marketing there and so i became the person on their mind anytime they thought about digital marketing so if they needed somebody or they had to recommend to somebody it was always gonna be me because like i'm that girl i'm who that was also all my heavy hitting clients my big big time clients i've have clients to pay me over ten thousand dollars a month for one service i got every last one of them from a referral from a referral of a current client so i had a client who for facebook ads was paying me two thousand dollars a month and that's because their ad spend was low so they were paying me two thousand dollars a month after ninety days what i do with a client is i send them out an email and this email is a pitch basically pitching me to their friends and i i've sent this out in a newsletter before because it's so good and i was like you guys need to try this let me know if you close any additional clients based on this this template this script and it's basically saying like y like i've done i mean obviously it's professional but it's like y i've done such good crazy results for you can you imagine how much your friends or other people you work with would love you if you recommended me you're gonna get the best christmas present ever at the end of the year because you delivered me to them meaning like i'm gonna drive them three times the amount of profit that i drive for you in similar fashion for them like they're gonna love you you're gonna be their new best friend you're gonna be that guy and from one of those emails i landed a client for ten thousand dollars a month from a two thousand dollar a month client so never underestimate your network and referrals big big big insider tip works like a charm everybody loves being the cool guy so if you can help him become the cool guy they love it so guys we are into the last segment of this podcast i hope so far the podcast has been super informative and you guys are enjoying it this last section is going over your guys question so you guys submit questions to me based on this topic that we go over in the podcast for the week and i am going to answer them so here is a really great question that i get that is obviously very relevant for this episode and it is how much time should i realistically expect to make you know ten thousand dollars per month i'm gonna start this side hustle i'm gonna build it up but how long to actually get ten thousand dollars per month and i'm always extremely transparent about this right there is no secret sauce there is no secret recipe to making ten thousand dollars a month or twenty thousand dollars a month or anything if there was i would share it with you i promise but the reality is is that everybody is different and some things come easier to others and some people do things differently than others to get them there and some people you know are perfection while some people are scrappy so everybody is different and there is no realistic timeline i've had students of mind within two weeks book a couple of clients and then i've had some students within six months they're booking their first clients and it's all based on you know how you execute how you operate and how you actually get stuff done i always say a good rule of thumb is that if you dedicate at least two hours a day for five days a week and at least deuce and you know every day doesn't have to be perfect as so long as each day you do something to take a step forward with it for solid six months if you do that you will be in a good place and i can't tell you if that's making ten thousand dollars a month five thousand dollars a month or whatever but if you are consistent with it the only way to not get there is to to give up right your only guaranteed way to fail is to stop if you are consistent with it no matter you know what kind of person you are if you're nervous if you're scared if you're consistent with it for a solid six months you will book clients like odds will end up in your favor right you can send out you're still hear a hundred knows before you hear a single yes but eventually odds will end up in your favor the more you do it the better you get at it and the quicker results will come in for you so i can't tell you a realistic time and i don't think anybody can and if they can then they're probably lying to you and trying to sell you some snake oil but so i hope that helps let's see next question oh here's one do my clients see my tiktok how do they feel i get this one all the time where it's like oh you're talking about how easy it is to do your job but you're making so much money like your clients are gonna see this and like can you and it's like all of my clients have seen this and majority of them think it's great another majority of them have provided me with the software and the tools that i use to make my workload lighter i was saying before chat i was using copy ai to write ads for my clients and they paid for my subscription they paid for me to use these tools to be able to do my job better clients wanna be on the cutting edge of technology if it's new if it's powerful they want you to be using it for them always so to answer that question do my clients see my tiktok yeah they've all seen it hello i mean because kind of hard to avoid seeing my tiktok i'm i'm everywhere at this point and yeah they'll send me tiktok of myself all the time and be like lol or like these comments i'm dying and we typically i'll have a good laugh about it so they they like it and i was going hard on ai for a while in the beginning and i had so many clients reaching out to hey i saw your tiktok videos if you're not using chat ep for our ads like i'm gonna be so mad we're paying client you know so yeah that's that's how they feel about it yeah don't be scared if you're not doing anything wrong you you don't have to be scared and people think that i'm doing something wrong or outsourcing the work right they're like oh if your clients see that you're outsourcing the work it's like you think i'm not transparent with my clients you think if i was doing anything wrong i would be shouting it from the top of the internet podium of course not they're all fully aware they all know i work with a team and that we all contribute to their success they speak with the freelancer like it's a s relationship guys there's no gray area no shady business going on like it's all transparent so yeah they see the tiktok they love them best way to find clients so this is a very common question i always say you know starting out which is this is still where i find clients is upwork linkedin and indeed you could have pretty different strategies so on upwork linkedin and indeed i've gone really into depth on those but indeed an up upwork is pretty much the same strategy you're just gonna send as bunch of personalized proposals as you possibly can and then on linkedin my strategy is to just post a ton of content ton of content that's related to your service and you use hashtags and you'll get recruiters that reach out to you it works really really well and then of course as i mentioned before referrals once you've gotten a couple clients and upwork linkedin and indeed use them leverage them have them make you more money works really really well here's another question okay did i do all of my own work in the beginning so you know did i go straight to outsourcing or did i ask take on the work myself in the beginning i in the beginning took on all the work myself so this business model was a learn as you go i didn't know that i was going to be outsourcing i had no idea that this was even gonna be a business it was more of just a side hustle hoping that i could you know quit my job eventually and so i did all the work in the beginning but i got to a point where i was able to quit my job but then i was like i have clients in the pipeline who want me to do the work but i can't do the work because i've got too many clients and i don't like working right it came down to a point where it was like okay i i need to hire help i need to hire help it's painful to turn down money because i don't have the bandwidth or care to do the work right so i had to hire your help and in the beginning that can be scary because you're you're losing a little bit of control and accurately losing some money right you're paying somebody else which means that's not going into your pocket but what actually ends up happening is you're able to take on way more work service way more clients make way more money and work less so i always preach if that's the route you wanna go is to outsource right from the get go get your head in the mindset that you're gonna be outsourcing because if you don't then you're gonna end up like me where you're you struggle with it and you're like i can't lose control i can't lose money when reality it's the opposite you'll you know take on less work and you'll make more money so guys that about wraps it up i love answering all your questions and i hope that you guys enjoyed this podcast episode as much as i enjoyed making it for you i can't believe this is episode six already thank you guys so much for being on this anti work holiday journey inspiration for your own ventures hello anti work and welcome back to my podcast this is our even been so much fun i can't believe we are on episode of five already it feels like just yesterday we found the first one so i hope after a long week at work now listening to this podcast you are reassured and you are motivated to maybe do a little bit more for yourselves so today's episode on the pod we are going to be talking all about the day in the life of an anti work a alcoholic and what it actually looks like so me if you know me i'm an anti work alcoholic i work smarter not harder and i'm gonna go into what a day in the life of that actually looks like because i know for some people it can be a lot of gl and glam in their heads but we'll get into it the nitty gritty about it but just to update you a little bit on my life i'm headed to vegas next week so by the time you guys hear this podcast i'll have already been but i'm super super excited to go to las vegas i have a speaking event it's the first of three speaking events i have i will be talking everything ai for the travel industry so this is gonna be a way different vegas trip for me that i'm too i'm used to going to vegas and partying and you know waking up not knowing where i am rather than being professional and going with business in mind instead so i'm really really excited about it hopefully i'll be able to tell you guys a lot more and share how that experience was this will be my very first speaking event so i'm really nervous luckily these podcasts and talking have really helped so i helped hope that that will help me also when it comes to doing a speaking event so wish me luck guys without further ado let's get into the topic what you guys really wanna hear about and that is a day in the life of a self proclaimed anti alcoholic let's go into more detail about it i think it is perceived that if you don't work a lot what you're doing is you know you guys might think i'm pools side every day with maybe a pool boy and he's fanning me feeding me grapes and i just press a couple buttons on the computer and rake in the dough and to be fair it's close to that not quite but it is close to that but i do in fact actually work quite a bit it's more than ten hours now given this podcast and some new business ventures i have but my primary business does take up about ten hours a month of my time but it brings me in about six figures a month i do work from the spa lot so that helps get the creative juices flowing remote work has really opened to the door to being able to literally work wherever you want it is a little bit more realistic than that i also thank you guys might assume that with the amount of money i make i'm you know spending it out the was if i'm making good money i'm spend in good money i'm making six figures month right it should be like i'm dripping in gucci or in a mega mansion with a yacht and while hopefully those things are to come spend and i do enjoy the finer things in life i'm very smart and strategic about spending money i believe you don't stay rich by blowing all of your money you you stay rich by being smart with your money and investing it and not blowing it on mega yachts just yet but for me if we're gonna get into the true meaning of an anti work alcoholic and making money for myself it's not just about doing lavish things and buying expensive things it's about freedom and money and working for yourself is the absolute absolute ultimate freedom i no longer a trade time for money and so what being an anti work alcoholic means is that work life balance is very important and very realistic and we're enjoying our time rather than working for our time and having the freedom to you know make that happen and and do it how we wanna do it so a realistic day and in a life of an anti work alcoholic for me let's talk work first right so i do claim to work ten hours a month earning more than ten figures or ten k a month which seems insane i know but it's really not so work wise let's break down what this looks like and what i actually do and if you guys aren't familiar with me i'll give you a brief overview of what it is that i actually do right so i am a digital marketing consultant i have clients and i run their facebook advertising they're tiktok advertising and i do their email marketing and a lot of times it can get confusing when i say advertising facebook ads you think people think i'm actually creating the ads themselves i don't create the ads whatsoever i don't do anything on the creative side i am in the ad management side so i manage their ad account on there behalf i spend their money i figure out what audiences work for them and i scale them profit so that's what i do but i outsource all of the work right so i take on these clients who pay me very well because it pays well to manage a lot of money online for these clients and so i take these clients on and then i outsource all of the work so i don't do any of the heavy lifting i go on to places like fiber and i find freelancers who are very proficient in facebook ads or tiktok ads and i hire them to do the heavy lifting so now that i have clients on board i'm not doing the work really all i have to do is quality control and just maintain client facing right so every week my clients get a report about you know how they performed for the previous week my freelancers complete the report for me and i send it directly to the client sometimes the client wants to hop on a call and go over the report but a lot of times the client is like great work keep up the good work no need for a call and so that comes usually out to the extent of the work i do i send out reports on mondays and i have client calls on tuesdays it's typically maybe about two calls on tuesdays because the majority of the clients are good not needing a call and yeah so i mean it could sometimes it could be even less than ten hours a month unless i'm booking a ton of new clients but that's also been very automated thanks to ai i've streamlined the onboarding process so it usually used to take me two weeks to onboard a client now it takes me you know essentially a couple minutes to get them set up and ask them all their questions get us linked into everything so really as you can see i'm just i oversee the business but that is still very very minimal amount of work so that kinda gives you guys a breakdown of what it is i actually do i know that's a frequently asked question of what my workload actually looks like and of course now i'm doing this podcast i'm doing speaking events and i'm doing course creation so i have been working a lot more but it really has felt like work those things they're more so i would consider them my passion projects and they are fulfilling and i enjoy them but as far as my actual business goes and before i started doing this podcast or any of those things before i was on tiktok which has really only been about eight months that i've been doing all of this other stuff i was working ten hours a month and i had been doing that for for a long time a couple of years so you might be asking ten hours a month how do you fill the rest of your days what else am i doing all day i mean for starters i do have a baby and babies take up a lot of time if you don't have a baby it's kind of hard to to know but they take up a lot of time my baby his name is finley finley guy parker he is officially sixteen months now he's a he's a big boy he's definitely takes after bam looks wise he's a very long long and lean baby i took him to the museum earlier where we got to see otter and a bunch of dinosaurs and that was a ton of fun so yes babies take up a lot of time and there are a lot of fun so he fills my day i also have a husband and we also have pets we have two cats and a dog if you are parks and recreation fans you'll get their name references the cats are sean ralph and mona lisa and our dog is little sebastian and lil sebastian is our most recent addition to the family we got him when family was about four months old and we literally found this dog on the street driving around and saw him on the side of the road stopped and picked him up he's this he looks kind of like a a pom he's white maybe american husky our american es with a little bit of pom in it maybe anyways we scooped him up brought him to the closest vet he was very very malnourished brought him to the closest vet he was in fact microchip they called the owners and the owners you know said that they had abandoned him so the vet let us know that they had to legally turn the dog over to us or you know surrender him to animal control and we all know what that means so we obviously couldn't let that happen we brought sebastian home and he's been a perfect edition ever since and just the sweetest dog ever i i don't know who would leave this dog on the side of the road but we've had him for are quite some time now and he's an amazing little guy so that also fills up my day as well lots of pets lots of family interaction but if we wanna maybe dive into an ideal day for me if i am to spend or a productive day maybe this is what a productive ideal day typically looks for me at least at least once a week twice a week maybe is what my day looks like so fortunately for me finley lee sleeps very well he typically wakes up around eight am which then gives me a lot of time in the morning to you know pull myself together i can answer any pressing emails from bed on my phone i can make myself some matcha fun fact about me i don't drink coffee and then when fin wakes up i'll cook us breakfast usually i will make some scrambled eggs with some veggies in there and some toast and then depending on what the day looks like i will play a podcast and take finley on a walk oh we like to walk through the neighborhood it's really really pretty here and i'll play a podcast something that typically will motivate me for the day or something that's educational or i'll take him to the gym they have the little kids club there i mean he gets to hang out with all his little buddies and play it with some toys watch some blu they and i burned some calories while i hype myself up for the day i love love love spin class i like yoga and pilates but nothing makes me feel better about myself than just going hard at spin so i love spin so if i can get in a spin class for the day i'm set i'm really good i'm feeling really good and then as of lately what i do is without either usually take off to a coffee shop leaf finley with my husband because he is a stay at home dad i'll go to a coffee shop to get some extra work done or i'll go to my favorite place to work which is the spa and if you can recall it's a minimum amount of work so i get to really just enjoy myself either at the spa or the coffee shop and the beauty about working at the spa i had tried out a bunch of those c working spaces like we works and all of those because i was like you know it's really helpful to get out of the house and sit somewhere else to get your creative juices flowing and to be able to focus right because when you're at home with remote work you know you're just in your pajamas usually all day and it can be hard to focus because there's always a lot of other stuff going on there's laundry to fold there's dishes to do so getting out of the house really helps but i did test out some c working places and i just found myself ending up forcing myself to go i was like i could just stay in bed but i should go to this place and i was just like why am i paying for something that i'd i'm forcing myself to do i think maybe networking aspect of it could have been beneficial but i'm kinda shy so i i i wasn't really a network so i was like where else can i go other than a coffee shop and my favorite spa i noticed had a spa membership and this spa membership it includes a treatment a month but then you have access to all of their amenities whenever all the time seven days a week so what it includes is they've got steam room assault room asana they have beach chair access so they give you a beach chair an umbrella there's also a sushi restaurant that will deliver you sushi on the beach and get this the beach chairs out by the beach have wifi yes they have wifi and the rest of the spa is filled with tons and tons of outlets so i will get in my robe i will open up my laptop i will have some tea at the spa and then in between you know answering some emails i will get a massage then i will sit in the sauna and then by that time it's time to go out to the beach so i can take my laptop out there get a little bit of sun order some sushi maybe order a cocktail depending on the time of day and just really enjoy myself and then i can come back up and you know maybe end of the day in the steam room they also give free champagne pain which great perk if you're having a stressful day and it's just relaxing it's coming who doesn't wanna be at the spa twenty four seven talk about the ultimate stress free work zone so that is a big big tip that i give if you have a day spa that has a member ship i highly recommend it as your new new work from home location could not recommend it more it has added so much fulfillment to my life and to my stressful ship and so then after i have a good spa day i come back home and i get to spend some time with my family we're usually unwind i will hopefully go on another walk with finley i really like getting out and taking him on walks he enjoys it i get my steps in then we come back we cook dinner he's been doing really good eating lately he tries everything he wants to eat everything and then finley gets a bath and then it's usually gm and off to bed and then my husband and i will get in bed and watch you know one of our tv shows we're really into judge duty episodes of catfish i am a reality tv junkie so i watch every single episode of ninety day fiance the bachelorette i can't get my been into some of those but he will watch ninety day fiance with me so you know if you ever want an opening line with me just talk ninety day fiance that's you know like talking talking romance to me it's love ninety day fiance say it's a train wreck from start to finish and i can't get enough of it and then yeah i usually head off i not off to sleep so that is a realistic day of an anti work holiday so still enjoying the finer things but not quite the gl and glam side with a little fan boy feeding me grapes as some of you might perceive it to be but yeah that's typically what it looks like we also like to do going out to eat friday so we do diner breakfast every friday which is also really nice i go with my entire family my sister has three kids now three girls so that diner table is very very full and yeah that's pretty much my life in a nutshell and when it looks like right now and i am enjoying it very very much hopefully i don't pack on any more work because i will start to lose the title of anti work alcoholic but i'm already on offload uploading some of my work even more outsourcing it more it's just getting in the groove of all this new stuff and learning to navigate it so it's been fun and definitely more work from spa days to come that leads us into our neck segment i know it can be really difficult to navigate the remote work from home space a lot of us will struggle when it comes to staying focused and being productive and not letting our minds wander you know we'll be sitting on our computer trying to meet a deadline but then you know our phones are looking really good to us and we wanna get on social media or our nintendo who we look like a lot of fun like why am i not playing my we why am i working so i have a couple productivity hacks things that i do that help me that i would like to share with you guys so my first productivity hack if you're procrastinate like me which is usually i say okay to procrastinate us as long as it gets done what's the famous saying where it's like if you wait till the last minute to do it that means it only took you a minute to do it or it only takes a minute to do so you know something that should take five hours if you wait till the last minute it's really only know take one minute to do but when we can't procrastinate when we have to get stuff done i do like to follow the five second rule this rule comes from mel robbins she is a motivational speaker i believe if she's got a book on the five second rule and what the five second rule is is basically when you have something come up into your head that you wanna do or need to do or you know you get an email or something that has to be done right away you give yourself five seconds to do it because after five seconds you're just going to go on to the next thing so you give yourself five seconds and how you can do that she gives the example of you know hitting snooze on your alarm clock instead of hitting snooze your alarm clock goes off you turn it off and you countdown from five and you essentially do like blast so like five four three two one blast off and you get out of bed because if you take longer than five seconds to do it your mind is already elsewhere and you've already moved on so don't let things take longer than five seconds that are press and it sounds silly but it really really helps i'll create lists and i'll have you know i'll see what's on the list and then give myself literally five seconds to start it or get it done and it helps it helps a lot because you'll be like oh i'll just do that after this or i'll do that after i grab a drink no five seconds get it done countdown blast off we're doing it really really helpful for me also i i'm multitask with something that i enjoy or something that makes me feel productive the great thing about working from home is that you know you're not sitting with a boss looking over your shoulder making sure you're not and doing anything you shouldn't be doing that you're sitting there just crunching numbers all day long right the beauty about working from home is that you know you can kind of you know sit in your pajamas and you can do other things to multitask so if i've got work that's just busy work that's mind that just has to get done for example when i had to get all of my tax information together for my accountant for tax day which was a lot and i had to organize it and all the stuff and while i didn't have to really focus on it it was still something that i had to get done i put on a podcast that either teaches me something inspires me or motivates me so while i'm doing that i'm also you know learning something i'm not only getting something done but i'm also doing something that's beneficial to me or i'll put on you know if i'm having a rough day i'll put on something in my guilty pleasure like reality tv while i'm doing my taxes that way i i don't necessarily feel like i'm working right i'm doing something i enjoy or if i'm listening to a podcast i'm learning something i'm not doing mundane busy work i'm learning something or i'm you know ind in a guilty pleasure i'm not working i'm ind in a guilty pleasure so multitasking with things that you enjoy or that make you feel you know inspired or productive or motivated always always helps you can ask my husband i i do a lot of work and get a lot of reality tv under my belt that way and it i helps it doesn't make me feel like i worked all day it makes me feel you know that i got to enjoy myself all day so that helps obviously there are some things that you can't multitask with but the mundane things if you're working from home we have the luxury of being able to you know indulge in other things another productivity hack that i have and this is our lists okay and these are also very cliche i'm not just old i'm very old school and everyone's always asking me business wise what's project management programs i use or crm i use to maintain communication with my clients and i'm like i communicate with my clients via email and then we just share a google doc and that's about it everything else that i need to get done i do with handwritten list which is funny because you know i'm the queen of ai which i use ai for everything but the things that i actually need to get done for the day i will hand right down on a list so i'll write down everything i need to do for the month for the week and for the day and it's cheesy i know but i'll put even the smallest task on there because it feels good to check things off heck like i'll even put stuff on there that i've already done just so i can check it off because when you've got a list of ten things to do and nothing is checked off it looks overwhelming right you're like oh my gosh i have all this stuff to do and i haven't done any of it so i'll even put stuff on there that i've already done for the day and it's simple tasks too like taking finley on a walk or making breakfast i'll put those on my list of stuff that i have to do listen to a podcast i usually listen to a podcast while i walk finley so that's killing two birds with one stone and then by the time i'm you know writing my list i'm art i've already checked off a couple things and so now when i look at the list it seems much more manageable and i'm telling you i don't know what it is about manually taking up pen and checking or crossing something off a list that just is like a breath of air ar you know you're like okay keep going so it's cheesy it's cliche i know but it really helps with getting your day to day especially your day to day stuff tackled and it helps with time management for me because i will put things down on my list and see you know exactly everything that has to get done for the day and then i will with in my head plan out okay now given everything i have to do how can i do that in my day what will my day look like this is what time finley takes a nap so i have to do these things before a nap he usually wakes up at this time so during his downtime these are the tasks i can tackle it's just super helpful and i highly i highly recommend physical physical lists and kicking things off as cheesy and cliche as it may sound it helps me big time and another productivity hack that i have is and this is a one that i you've heard all the time and it's not really a productivity hack but it's more of a motivation hack and for me it is dressed for the job you want and for me that's no job i don't want a job so i know a lot of people remote work want to get dressed for the day because you know putting on their makeup it makes them feel more complete right you could start to feel pretty bad about yourself if you're you know just un camp and in your pajamas all day and just answering emails right you kinda just feel like you're out of touch with the world i do recommend still getting ready but just dressing in things more so for fun cute workout outfits things i i dress i go to the coffee shop to work and i dress up right i have nowhere else to be but the coffee shop and i dress up and i will wear a chic blazer with my prada loafers and i will put on some jewelry and perfume and makeup and just sit at the coffee shop and enjoy myself and it it makes me feel good that i don't have to go into an office and wear a certain thing right i'm not dressing for a nine to five i'm dressing for a cute coffee shop and i i i love doing that if you follow me on instagram i usually post my coffee shop outfits for the day and it just makes you feel you get out of the house you put on some makeup if you're a girl or even if you're a guy anywhere makeup to just feel a little bit more complete about yourself and you know you're not wearing something that is expected of you to wear if you're going to an office so dress for the job you want which is no job and dress for what makes you feel good even if that is your pajamas because some people just thrive in their pajamas some days i do but otherwise i will have fun and dress up and feel good about myself and head to a coffee shop to get some work done here so moving right along here guys let's get into the next segment of this podcast which is my daily dose of a money making tip this money making tip is about working for yourself i recently had a comment on one of my tiktok videos saying that given how much money i make as a freelance digital marketer makes the system look broken because people like teachers and nurses get paid so little why should somebody like me who does freelance marketing that's not really contributing much to society get paid six figures a month while teachers and nurses to you know our heroes make such terrible low wages and it makes it look like the system is is broken right and it's more so that i don't play into the system right so you're you're thinking that the system is broken it is broken but i don't i don't play into that system i don't play into that game if you wanna make real money you can't play into the system you know what does the system mean and what does the system look like so teachers nurses government workers they all play into this system they all had to go to college get an expensive degree pay for an expensive degree only to work a job that doesn't pay them fairly in return and i don't play into that system i didn't go to school i built a business for myself learning a skill that was very skills that were very high in demand that you can't even learn in school so you can build your own system by learning any of these skills and working for yourself you can have an un untapped income because you aren't dependent on anyone else but yourself and the problem with teachers and nurses is they are dependent on the system right especially the government you will always have a capped income there's no sky's the limit in that system and if you don't want to have that lifestyle and be in that system you need to start working for yourself so people get mad at me for making the amount of money i do when teachers get paid so unfairly but i don't play the system i'm not even on the same field so if you stop feeding the system right so if you think the system is broken stop feeding it stop taking these jobs the system will crumble and eventually supply will go up i mean demand will go up and your supply will be in so demand that wages will have to rise and the only way to remain in a broken system is to not leave that system and you can do that you can leave that system that is not the only path to success or the only path to making money learn a skill that's tie in demand you can learn almost anything online anything i learned all of my skills online facebook advertising tiktok advertising email marketing online and then i offered my services to to clients who needed them i didn't go to school and now i'm able to take on as many clients as i possibly can and have an un captain income i make six figures a months i want my next goal to be seven figures a month and that's possible because i don't play into the system so my money maker tip is to just not get mad at the system or if you're gonna get mad at the system that's fine don't play into it but you can't get mad at people who don't play into the system and if you want to create wealth for yourself outside of it you can do that there's no right or wrong time to start you don't have to be a certain age you're definitely not too old you can learn anything and start to make a ton of money outside of the structured norm news so guys we made it to the last segment of the podcast this is where you guys submit questions and i answer them anything about digital marketing ai but today we are going to focus on the anti work haul lifestyle as i mentioned before i do get this question a lot a lot of people will ask me don't i ever get bored people say i would lose my mind if i had all that free time i have to be doing something and in return i say no i don't get bored i never get bored first of all as i mentioned you know i've got a baby i have i have a busy lifestyle outside of work but even if i didn't it even before that you know finley is only a year and a half so before my baby i i indulged in nothingness and i loved it i thrived in it i aspire to retire that is the goal for me i wanna retire tomorrow just so i can do nothing and just enjoy nothing maybe i should make that into a shirt aspire to retire were like i mentioned ingrained to believe that the purpose and meaning to life is what we contribute and our jobs or something like that and fulfillment to me is living a happy life and just being in a good mood and everyday maximizing it by doing things that i love and that i enjoy and being an anti worker a alcoholic allows me the freedom to do that if i get bored i pick up a hobby something that i'll enjoy not something that you know i have to do in order to pay my bills i don't find fulfillment in a nine to five i find it in waking up without an alarm clock and i don't get bored i never get bored sometimes i wish i was bored i indulge in nothing there's i think it's french i don't know how to say it in french but it's a it's a phrase that is the sweetness of doing nothing if you guys know the phrase let me know but it's the sweetness of doing nothing and that's because you know the french they enjoy they have you know law or really short work hours long lunch breaks and they just sit at cafes and enjoy ind in nothing this and there's sweetness in it so to answer your question no i don't ever get bored and i'm sorry that you lose your mind not working but you know there are plenty of other things you could do that would help you not lose your mind other than than working let's see another question we have here is do i ever feel guilty for living the lifestyle that i live that's an interesting question to answer fairly no i don't that can be kind of sad honestly to think that somebody who built a life for themselves not hurting anybody and i employ other people i provide income for other people too i provide a life for my husband and for our baby you know i give back to the community do i ever feel guilty for the lifestyle i live no and it's sad that you know people should feel guilty for being successful or for doing something good in their lives or for being happy so no i don't feel guilty yeah that answers that i don't feel guilty oh here's a good question that i actually haven't touched on a lot and it's it's interesting right because i do talk about my husband and he is a stay at home dad he's been stay at home dad he became a stay at home dad a month before finley was born right so we decided we don't wanna put family in day care i make plenty of money for to sustain our family why don't you just stay home then and so this question is does your husband like being a stay at home dad so in the beginning yes loved it and now he is kind of you know feeling like he's got nothing for himself he's feeling like he needs to get out there he needs to pick up volunteering or do something else because he's been in you know stay at home daddy mode for over a year and a half now and he's just feeling kind of you know like he lost himself a little bit and i i i don't think that that's necessarily just a dad thing stay at home dad thing i think that comes in the territory with any stay at home parent so he's navigating through it and he's looking to get a part time job just to have fun to just kinda get out there maybe do like some bar tending which is what i used to do and i would say ninety percent of the time i enjoyed bar tending and it's it's more of a socializing job and so that's kind of would be helpful for him is to get out there and and socialize some more and you know feel like you're not just a slave to a baby so he's he's excited about that how do i deal with the haters and people praying for my downfall who how do i deal with them well see sometimes it's very tempting and a lot of times i do respond to them and i need to stop but it's just so hard to not respond to them they don't get to me i just like to throw it back at them but i i need need to cut it out i need to stop but a lot of times i'll have fun with them right i'll do i'll do funny funny responses to them i'm trying to think of one off the top of my head i don't know something about like this girl probably can't even can't even program a microwave and i said something like what's a microwave you know just just messing with them just having fun with them so it's gone to that point and you know i i recently did a tiktok video on pretty privileged where i do and this is more not even like i comes a lot in the form of comments but even friends that i know family members will say that you know you're only successful because you know you're decent looking it's kinda hurtful especially because it's like yeah my clients let me manage hundreds of thousands of dollars and facebook ads every month because i i don't give them results i just looked decent like there's just no way that that would even add up no matter what not to mention the majority of my clients are middle aged women so like how does that add up but yeah it's more so just you know they say the best revenge is a life lived well and so you know i i it's always the miserable people who try to bring you down it's always people who in their head wish that they had you did differently in their own lives and see you succeeding doing something that they wished they had done so what's more so just understanding that there's more to it misery loves company and that's usually how i i deal with it is i i try to be understanding i i do have fun in the comments with them sometimes but you know in a healthy way next question do i believe in manifesting that is a good question i do believe in manifesting there was one time where i really really really believe in it but believe in manifesting not in the sense that the universe actually will answer your manifestation i believe in it in the sense that if you believe in it every single day you take action to it and the more you talk about it and believe in it yourself the more likely you are to put forth the effort and make those things happen and the more open you are to manifesting the more opportunities present themselves that you are open to receiving so that in that sense i believe in manifesting and i i have an example of manifesting and it was when i was doing drop shipping i had built my drop shipping store and you know i didn't get a single sale i opened to the store it was a women's online boutique i opened to the store didn't get a single sale and i was like a well shoot like this was gonna be my like acclaimed a fame i was gonna have like the next you know nasty gal website women's boutique and it didn't happen and so every day i would do yoga in my house and at the end of yoga i you know instead of saying nam namaste i would repeat in my head that you know my drop ship or my store is going to crush it i'm gonna figure out how to make it happen i forget it was a long time ago but i said like four different things over and over and over every single day and eventually it did and whether or not i was i manifested it or not it's just i kept telling myself that it would happen but i kept doing things to then make it happen right that's when i learned to do facebook ads because i had to figure out a way to direct traffic to the store and it did my drop shipping store was very very successful i was making about thirty thousand dollars a month with my drop shipping store i feel like that was one really like case of manifestation that i was like whoa this manifestation thing this thing works and like i said it's not because some higher power actually like stepped in and made it happen and it was because when you believe it you know it's like fake it till you make it or when people believe their own lies because they tell it to themselves so much it's it's something along those lines where it's just when you believe it's actually gonna happen you put forth the effort to make those things happen happen alright so last question guys this question i see pretty often it comes from other people who are in the same space so it's i also do digital marketing but your life isn't my life what am i doing wrong and it's not that you're necessarily doing anything wrong it's more so that you might be on a smaller scale i think what was a big breakthrough for me was i had in pastor syndrome right especially because i didn't go to school for this i don't have a degree why is somebody trusting ent in me to do this service for them and once you get over that you realize that you do provide value and that you are worth more than what you're making a lot of times see digital marketers taking pennies like working endless hours and they get paid like five hundred dollars a month and they think that like okay well you know this is work i have to take it and you don't have to take it you know once you position yourself as an expert you don't have to take those low paying jobs you don't have to just jobs because their money you can transition in it into a more successful realm and not necessarily feel that you know you don't deserve take the higher clients the better clients because you probably do and i promise you i promise you there were people out there that are way way dumb than you that are way more successful than you just because they've got the ego to do it also we see a lot of digital marketers fall into the agency life i'm pretty anti agency i think it's a great place to learn but as far as how they service their clients they're pretty s and i i'm not really four agencies and they will work you to the bone agencies will work you to the bone you'll be say an account manager you'll have like a hundred accounts under you and you can't possibly you know give them the best service that they deserve and it can be overwhelming and then you're only making like fifty thousand dollars a year which is very discouraging because you're working so much and do you have so many clients and you're were like why am only making this amount when i'm dealing with this amount so it's not necessarily failing it's more of a mindset shift you don't have to do digital marketing for an agency or for a salary position and you don't have to take the clients that pay pennies it's just because you need work coming in the door so lots of other options out there guys don't think that you are not good enough because nine out of ten times you are so guys we made it to the end that concludes episode number five thank you guys so so much for listening i hope you enjoyed this episode don't forget the following should not be cons as financial legal or tax advice my experiences are all anecdotal and should be used as examples or inspiration for your own ventures hey anti work welcome back and welcome to another episode of seven day weekend with me digital laura anderson so today on the show i have a very special guest joining me she's a social media manager extra and she also helps actors become actors so i'm super excited that she's here and we're also going to be talking everything about digital disasters so how we've either screwed up royal or anything to crazy clients or anything like that so please help me welcome my colleague julia lang hi thank you so much for having me i'm so excited to be here in talk digital disasters because lord knows so i've had them yeah i'm so excited you're here you're my first guess yeah yeah that's so excited yeah julie and i we go way back we actually met in an instagram chat like it was in an instagram like engagement chat right well it was originally on a facebook group that was right like there was a pop instagram pod in people so yeah you know people were looking for engagement pods and we were in an engagement pod and then it kinda fell apart yeah and i saw like the work she was doing and i like oh man like we need to connect like she looks awesome and so i mean i haven't been like years ago it was years ago and then at you know the the pod kinda dispersed but we got pregnant around the same time and so i think that like we really like connected back again is because we were we were both pregnant literally the ain't job work in modest navigating the digital world sure yeah so and then we were destined to be friends because you have ties in north carolina so yes so julia lives in north carolina i live in south florida and we actually had never even met until like the end of last year i had to go to north carolina because my husband's family lives there and i was like well if i'm going to that area like i gotta meet up with julia like we gotta we gotta actually meet ir yes and so it's like always such a weird small world that ends up it's like you live right by my husband's like teeny tiny little christian school that he went to yeah i get throw off i know we were just meant to be yeah friends and like honestly it's probably a good thing we don't live in the same state because we would like start so much trouble honestly you know waste way too much time but it would be nice our babies would grow up together yeah it be good it would be a lot of fun that would be really that nice so what did you what did you get into this week what did you do this what's your week been like just working and trying to get content scheduled out a lot further so i'm a social media manager like laura said and so i try nice to get you know trends happen overnight so when i schedule things i try to see what's trending but sometimes it's just not this is just not a reality so i try to get self scheduled pretty a you know couple weeks in advance that way i can focus on engagement with within those accounts that i manage so just work you know hanging out we're getting ready for the fourth oh yeah it's a holiday well up this weekend right it's two right it's tuesday right yeah so it's gonna be a long extra long weekend yeah and for you know social media managers or digital marketers like myself a it's a busy time sales are going on and tuesday yes lots lots of stuff to post about for sure yes absolutely absolutely so i was i was trying to explain so i like oh she helps actors become actors can you talk a little bit more about that like what is it that you do for those yes so i wanna learn more about it oh so okay my background is in acting and broadcast journalism that's what i went to school for but i fell into i mean it's all kind of in the same industry and i i love talking to people i love interviewing people i love all the things on camera and i you know i went through the whole process of joining an agency because i wanted to get more hosting gigs and i lived in new york i lived in nashville i'm from charlotte and when i moved back to charlotte i auditioned for an agency and they signed me and then i just i got involved with the acting community here in charlotte and just kinda one thing led to another and i ended up flipping roles and started working at the agency as their new face director so that's kinda how i got involved in it and then now i i helps scout talent so i've been in the entertainment industry gosh probably since i was thirteen so twelve thirteen so it's been a minute so cool yeah i know you have like these really good digital downloads these templates for actors so if that's something any of you guys are interested in she's she's the best thank you wanted to become an actor like totally follow her for sure well thank you yeah a lot of experience lot of the industry just is constantly changing and so you know if you are an actor or model or you know it's just so important just with digital marketing with really i mean so much now everything is just constantly changing so what worked five years ago ten years ago is just not gonna work down i mean the core of things are the same but the way that it's done is so completely different it's so true and my last podcast episode was about why school is a scam and that's like one of the points it's like you're gonna lust burn all of these things but by the time you're out like this stuff changes i mean like daily it changes digital marketing that space changes daily and so it's like by the time you graduate the majority of the stuff you learned is is dated you know the fundamentals might still be the same but the real life experience and what's going on happening is is totally different yeah it is and i i have a degree i have a double bachelor's degree in communications and journalism and that i graduated in twenty twelve and everything i learned then is completely obsolete now so it's just the fundamentals yes are the same but it's it's a different show and then i went back and actually got my master's in digital marketing and you're gonna learn more from from you then oh dang thanks like well you're literally i mean i can literally compare the two because you're literally showing people what to do versus hey write a paper and do a lot of research on this great there's some great things you're gonna learn in school don't write wrong however your girl's in debt now so yeah yeah it's rough it's rough what mean what can you do but you know for the most part it's like i always say like if you like school if you found it beneficial for you you're okay with it you know more power to you it's expensive for sure and i think the way that everything is kinda going people are just are really truly realizing that things are gonna have to change especially within the education system because technology is changing so quickly right or at least if there's other options right right you know for like that's not your only option there's more options out there yeah and that's that i just genuinely didn't know i was just raised go to college and then after you graduate college you're gonna land your dream job and that was i mean that's literally what we worked told and just the expectation and okay like that happened yeah guess i gotta do it so yeah we can get into the topic of the day digital disasters is gonna be a fun one i know that you know especially running our own show and doing our own business type of scenario we run into a lot of blenders mistakes or chaos or anything like that so i know for me i've got two stories that i wanna share and i know i've shared them with you a little bit at least the one because we knew each other as this was going down and i was like messaging you in real time about this crazy crazy crazy client so i have a story about and like an actual disaster and this disaster was my very first client and how i like screwed it up so bad and i was like for freaking out and then i have a story about crazy client of mine and so i could tell my first or if you wanna go if you have anything you wanna start with or you want me to go first no i wanna hear your first client i don't think i know this story okay well because it was so long ago right i don't i mean a lady doesn't like to reveal her age but where does same age time i i've meant to the audience they don't guts to know we're not a day twenty two come on that's right live in the dream yeah twenty two is best yeah i know once upon a time yeah so my very first client right this was one like i dropped out of school i only went to school for like half a semester in florida packed up my bags and i was like i'm going to california like get me out of florida you know like all my bad choices have been made in florida i gotta get out of here so i to california and i tried to go back to school there but didn't work out because i hated school and i just it was like a community school and i had zero driver motivation and it was like okay like i wanted to study computer science but i was like learned more online so i i was doing computer science and i was okay do i find clients like how do i how do i get paid to actually do how do i find people that will pay me to do this so i can make money because like i don't really wanna get a job so i would scour the internet and try to find clients and took forever right it always takes forever to get your very first client like hurt you hear like hundreds of hundreds of nose before you hear hear a single yes so i got my first client i was offering things like website development and social media this was you know years and years ago before i even learned facebook ads and all my other digital marketing and so i was like man like i've i found them on up upwork and i mean i'm not gonna disclose who they are because i mitch they're bigger now i see all their ads all the time and i still like it like ptsd yeah and so let's say like skincare their skincare brand right and they wanted me to do their social media management kinda like maintain their website and all of this stuff and they were gonna pay me two thousand dollars a month and i was like you know i i think i was twenty maybe at the time and i was like whoa like two thousand dollars a month like so much money and i was like oh my god and then i was like wow i can't believe it it's so awesome i'm gonna make so much money and then i then i started getting in my head like oh my god that's so much money like they i like i'm twenty you know i'm like thinking in two thousand dollars a month i'm like bart and stuff on the side and i'm like man that's like so much money to like run a social media account right and maintain a website and so then i started getting in my head with like all this impostor syndrome that i'm like oh my god i like i think what a school i don't know anything like it's like of course i know how to you know do stuff but it's just like i was psych myself out i was like there's no way that i deserve that amount of money right even though did it's just like i in your head when you have bought or syndrome and me tell yourself over and over like oh my gosh i'm a fraud like i can't do this they're gonna find out i don't know anything even though i do know it's just this whirlwind right so landed them they signed the contract and officer i i started working right and i to be fair i did the work right and i did the work fine and up to their standards or whatever and they they were like okay pool the social media posts look good and then they were like okay we also need you to reach out to influencers like start doing influencer marketing too and i'm like okay cool like you know jump on it like i'll do whatever they want they're paying me so much money even though now i'm like two thousand dollars i wouldn't even like really waste my time but back then that's a lot of money like for a ten year old a month that at that time period that wasn't a good amount of money right and this was like over ten years ago so and i was like all for gun and then they asked me to do i don't know something else like forget what it was something else and i was like trying to get overwhelmed and i was like i don't know how to do that and i was like but they're asking me to do it and i was like okay and so i was like i i don't know what i'm doing and then the next stay and to be fair this client was very needy right obviously he's asking me to do stuff more than what we even agreed to do and he would call and text every single day and i'm like this is normal right this is just how it works and now it's like i would been able to whip this client into shape and like client expectations like y you wanna call me every day you pay me like a salary employee if you wanna do that like we could have that conversation right but i i didn't have that knowledge or experience yet and so i was just kind of like crumbling and for freaking out and so he would call me every day and so i just stopped answering the calls i can't freaking it out like that go with your client a ghost at him and he'd email me and like i was just i was like literally like on the keyboard like shit i don't wanna say i don't know what to do and he was like and then like the next day he called like five times because i wasn't answering and then he texted a bunch of times and i then i was like spiraling you know i was like oh my god oh my god oh my god and i was like oh my what's gonna happen and i was like do i never speak to him again like and up until that point i had done all the work right this was like half into the month right so we haven't you gotten far and i think i ghost him for about two weeks which is a whole long that is a long time that was a a long time and finally he he emailed me saying you know like legal action lawsuit and i was like fudge like i should i need to get back to him so he called and then i i you know got the nerve or the courage to finally answer and i was like he's like you better have been kidnapped is what he said to me he's like because there is no excuse for like blah blah and i was like oh i'm so sorry like dealing with stuff like i i was totally kidnapped just go with it i should've went with it right like what is he gonna like he literally said be better and kidnapped you better if it kidnapped kidnapping like your mouth better have been gag and like that's why you couldn't get back to me oh i was like oh my god like i'm so sorry and he's like was very yeah where they were needy and that's probably why i spiral so bad is because like they were so needy and it's like now i i would know how to handle that better i'd be like no you don't call me every day like sorry like that's not how this relationship works like you want a contractor i get i am treated as a contractor like if you want a full time salary employee you either pay me that way or you find one but at the time i didn't and so he started demanding all of his money back and so i'm freaking out he's gonna he's gonna sue me and i was like at i didn't have any money right like i got no money and i was like the end of the day i was like i did the work right and he approved the work like i had i had scheduled all the posts for that month and website was fine so i was like listen like and i i'd really barely even had the money to give back like i had it but like that was like i was kinda depending on it at that point i was like i can't give you back the money and he's like well then you had to give me back half or like you i i will serve you it's like oh my god and i'm like oh this for like two thousand dollars so i gave him back half the money and like he like hardcore severed ties and was like you'll never make it in this business like blah blah blah i'm like going off on me and i mean to be fair rightfully so two weeks like ghost a client is not cool for any of you guys starting out don't do that ever don't do that yeah learned from my mistake but it really got to me and i was like oh this isn't for me like i can't do this and blah blah blah but at least i kept with it and i was like okay you know what like i can wash my hands of this i'm done i don't have to ever speak to this client again like you know we're not running in the same circles or anything like i we didn't even live you know that he lived i think in california when i was there but not nowhere we're close right so it's not like we're not crossing paths it is what it is like i made a mistake i gave them back half their money even though i did all of the work like just to you know compensate for my poor very poor poor behavior but it's just funny looking back on how it's like man i would have like w this client real good like if he was treating me this way and me wanna treating me wrong in any anyway i just i'd i didn't know to not let clients walk all over you and then when they did i didn't know how to handle it clearly because my idea of handling it was doomed nothing but you live in you learn and honestly it's like good that it happened so early on because it's like okay i got it of the way i got it over with i can move on and so it it took me a while to like go back out there and like look for clients again because i was like that is trauma i do not wanna go back at like doing that again i don't wanna i have to ghost to another client no that's and i haven't ghost one sense so friday my clients listening don't worry i'm not gonna ghost to you guys yeah i mean you live when you learn and you are also like twenty so right you know and at the same time it's like it gets overwhelming when the expectation is one thing and then people start asking you for more and then for more and then for more without any kind of budget or without any really any merit to be doing that so it's like you wanna do it all but realistically you can't i mean we just unfortunately we just all can't do it all so right and i didn't like realize that if they ask me to do something but i don't have to do it right then and there like when they would ask me to do stuff i'd be like i have to do it immediately this is decline asking i can be like okay cool like i will send over cap email and with the deliverables and expectations of when this is going to be accomplished right and it's like so i you know really you do you live and you learn it is a learning experience for especially like working for yourself and running your own show because every client is different and i just i don't know i know i talk to you about this i personally get so intimidated which i should because it's my business but i'm not a bolt up you know i'm just you know i work with people that i know that i can work with and go from there and just those conversations are hard to have when you were talking about money or expectations with a client it's really hard it's like oh my gosh are they gonna drop me and i think that's a huge huge fear especially in this space is like you know we see the money that's great but is it worth it it might not be yeah and then it's always like never feeling good enough or you know if there's like one thing the client doesn't like you're like i'm a failure at all of it and it can spiral real quick and if can get scary out there especially when it's your your own business but there are definitely some benefits so for sure and i think too once you kinda cut the toxic clients it it just really opens the the doors for even better ones and ones that are gonna pay you what you're worth so there's a lot to be said for that you know is the money worth it it's the money nice yeah absolutely but it's not worth your sanity right and you could be potentially making more money elsewhere but you're wasting your time on somebody who's not paying you well and making you do way more than they should for sure yeah exactly it's hard it's really really hard i think i i had a whole email typed out because i was about to drop a client and i check out i remember you're telling me this yeah i'm not gonna do it yet i'm just like because it's yeah y'all all have those days yeah i mean i had this email it's probably still in my drafts because i know what gonna have to send it but it just i kept missing the mark on stuff and it's like you know if you're not liking what i'm doing then that's totally fine go find somebody else right like what are we doing here then yeah what are we doing it's just not you're not happy i'm not happy let's just be done with it but then sometimes you are very very happy and it's just very confusing what do you want for me that's a problem some clients like just will not be happy no matter what and you think that like okay like what's the point like go find somebody else then but then they continue to pay you and it's like well clearly they don't mind it like they don't mind it that much like it's just they're not a happy person or a happy client so they're just gonna be like that with with everything it's not just you it's with everything in their like you know what mean is like they're not happy with their coffee order right like they're just not a happy right it's a struggle it it can definitely be a struggle and i know since you're in the the space more so than i am with with ads and everything do you have you ever like made the miss stake because i see memes on this and i'm like oh my gosh i've totally almost done this when i've had to run some some ads not on a skill are we talking daily budget and lifetime budget did i did i hit the nail on that yes yeah have you done it so what she's talking about if anybody's not in the advertising space right on facebook ads tiktok ads even google glass right you have the option to set the budget for the ads and you can do that daily so say if you've got a budget of you know a hundred dollars you're gonna run it ten dollars a day until it hits a hundred dollars that would be your daily budget and then you could also do lifetime budget where you're gonna set it for a hundred dollars and then do x amount of days right and what happens is a lot of people obviously when you're working with bigger budgets right i have a client who their budget is hundred thousand dollars a month on facebook ads so they spend you know easily they could spend ten thousand dollars a day on ads and it's like okay so their monthly budget is a hundred thousand so say i wanted to do lifetime budget the lifetime is a month right and i do a hundred thousand dollars it's like what if i accidentally did daily and so in the day they spend a hundred thousand dollars right big what's yeah although did they get their results right because at the end of the day it's all the same it's just that's really really accelerated to spend that amount of money in one day if you're not prepared for it if you're not anticipating it if like that's not what your strategy was but did they get a good return probably not probably not it's possible but probably not because the client's is not necessarily gonna be that upset if they garner profit but right no that's never happened to me mainly because i never operate with lifetime budgets i hate lifetime budgets the only people who operate with lifetime budgets are people who aren't in their clients counts daily i'm in my clients accounts daily so i turned stuff off when it's supposed to get turned off i only operate with daily budgets you work at like an agency and you're gone for the weekend and they're running a weekend promo you're gonna set a lifetime budget for that promo and tell it to turn off whenever you want so no it's never happened to me but i i would imagine especially if you work at an agency like you'd be like a on fired to like fired i just spent their entire month budget in one day it's like always so trauma when i have to go in and and like do our like boosted posts or or what ever because we're not an e commerce so i'm boosting just for brand like to be recognized but i like sit there and i stare at it and i'm like okay this is right i'm i'm gonna take a picture and send it to my my boss just to let him know i did it right because i'm so incredibly paranoid that i'm gonna just completely f it up and yeah so well that's good that it hasn't happened to you because that would be that's i feel like very trauma i've like left like promo budgets going longer than they should so say if their daily budgets usually ten thousand dollars a day and their promo budget was twenty thousand dollars a day like i've let it go like maybe like a day longer but that's because results were good and like it was kind of intentional i was like well let's just keep milk it a little bit longer right but don't worry i'll turn it off but now right and that's going and that's because you have a strategy so that's that's right difference to rather than knock on wood right now that we've talked about it like why it happen no no it's not not gonna don't check me it's not gonna happen it's gonna be totally fine yeah it's like yeah it's like sending an email you're guaranteed to find like i will read something over and over and over when i'm about to send a social media post out or whatever or email i read it twenty million times and it looks absolutely perfect and then a second i send it it's like oh i found a mistake like cool mh and it's like no back and i make this come back yeah i saw that i was like you never proof read faster than that like set little two seconds where it says like undo this email yes you have like four seconds to undo this email yes it's oh it's horrible and i think with my social media stuff i have my clients review it before i send it like i do not send to anything out without their approval and it's obviously for their benefit but it's for mine too like need you to check over me too i am not a spelling bee champion at all but did i mess up please let me know right and then i please confirm yes well that's that's what happens when you there like you know you're running your own show is like you don't have it doesn't go through people like a number of people before it gets pushed out yeah i am the typo o queen and it's just because i i move fast and i type fast and you know when you're in your head speaking and then you type it out and it comes out more jumbled and it's like i'm the of that but when it's you and you read it back over it makes sense to you even if it's wrong and like mixed up it's like you wrote it you knew what you were trying to say and like it makes sense and then you send it to somebody in like what were you like this is like the grab is all wrong here and you're like oh it was you're right right no it's yeah i've gotten some texts like hey this was spelled wrong and i'm like okay you approved it nope i'll get it fixed totally you're yeah of only human i'm only human i i mean i'm with you i moved so fast too like just being so immersed in the digital marketing space and that's something that people don't really i'm haven't heard anybody talk about is just really you're staring at a screen all day long and it's exhausting i mean mh you know you have people that are going to their physical jobs which is physically exhausting but oh man staring at a computer screen like all day long yeah things are gonna happen like met like edits are gonna need to be made there's gonna be some miss spelling synchronous goodness for ai because i will copy and paste is this spelled right i have such a very very different the way that i started my business in like any normal way so oh cool i just kinda got started with my company i think i started it in like twenty twenty during the whole they're during a pandemic and i just saw a bunch of tiktok of people being like oh a social media manager and i was like oh i could totally do that and i just went with it and it just it kinda spiral in the best way it's just not a traditional way that i i started though so i my first client was kind of an oops i've been managing accounts for businesses so i knew what i was doing it wasn't that at all but i was like i should totally be getting paid for this so right i mean i so i knew what i was doing and one of my friends actually was going to get some stuff done and long story short there was a comment made on social media that offended her rightfully so and she was like well the the owner of this business was like oh i will you know i'm so sorry that this happened i'm looking for a new social media person and my friend was like oh i have someone and that's all oh my gosh that's so funny that's how serendipity deputy yeah that was how i got started and then it just kind of spiral and word and because my my whole thing was i was focusing on smaller businesses and just people that i can have relationships with because i feel like i can really up their accounts when i know them personally and so that's how i got started it was a total negative situation that turned into a good one oh that's so funny yeah so very thankful for my friend for right place right time yeah yeah i'm very thankful for my friend who referred me because it worked out but yeah and it's funny a lot of people underestimate social media management because they're like i mean i get this all the time when people are like you know i use ai for stuff and they're like well people could just do that themselves why would they pay you to do that and it's like same with social media management and it's like yeah they could do that themselves social media management for one account is a full time job it is so much work and i say this all the time i was like people and they don't they don't realize it because it from for me for like an ab advertising perspective they see the profits that come in like i can report this is specifically how much money i made you and from a social media management they can see like you know consistent growth and that but like they don't necessarily understand that first of all you absolutely have to have social media management your a business i mean even if you're an individual like to leverage your own social media but and it goes two ways right so it's like yeah you can have somebody who will just generate post for you and post them or you can have somebody who will do that plus they're gonna grow your account organically and that's the most important social growing your account organically is the absolute most important and it's like and that takes so much time it's like engaging you literally just have to spend hours and hours engaging and it's like yeah somebody can do it themselves but who wants to like i would hands down pay somebody to do all of that for me like i do pay somebody to do all of that for me so because there's just it's so much work it is so much work and it's like and if you get a good social media manager like they will trans for your account thing is like when you get that organic growth it's so good it's so good because so many people will try to take shortcuts and like spend money to like you know get like fake followers and stuff like that and at the end of the day it only ever hurts your business for correct yeah you i i never have purchased followers i have never yeah i don't just none of that bought about like robot engagement and all that stuff no no there did used to be an app this was years ago that you could feed it certain hashtags and it would go through and like all the pictures with those hashtags it was okay reliable it was incredible yeah that's i gonna said that's not that bad no it was incredible and so i would leave my phone running and so to do that and this was way before i was blanket all these picks yeah and it was way before i was a social media manager so i was doing it for another company but it was awesome and so i went back to go look at this app and it just does not exist anymore and i'm like dang it it was that would be good on tiktok too oh my gosh yeah mh yeah early like on tiktok that thing i think you where people are i was gonna say it was you that sent it to me right where yeah she sent me this tiktok of this girl saying like this is what all of the mega influencers are doing to get their videos to go viral because comments are where it happens and the more comments you get the better your engagement is and so they'll have like it's not a robot which is probably this will probably work because it's not a robot right and it's like they they'll make a fake account like a ghost account and they'll comment on their own videos of so people who already made a comment and be like i disagree with you and so then that way that person will comment back like literally starting an argument in their own comments on their own videos from a ghost count to drive up engagement and she said that to me i was just like who's got the time that's what i wanna do who has the time i was like are they but i don't doubt that they're doing that like i could i could for sure see that happening because it does it sparks lots of engagements my videos it has like people fighting in them perform the best like the comments where it's like there's two really solid different opinions i get so many comments yeah it's because they're all they're all fighting each other i know well with mind luck i would forget that it was me and i would just be fighting with myself so yeah like a whole argument with yourself on your own video yeah exactly exactly it would probably boost it probably but i would be so mad it would just be pissed at yourself yeah for no reason like i just got into a fight with myself oh my god that just so funny no i i don't have the time to make a ghost account at all on tiktok to go and yeah start fights with myself but yes engagement on tiktok with the comments that's what i don't have viral things but my one video that had over a hundred thousand views it was because everybody was commenting like same same oh glad we're not alone you know so those comments mh they will yeah they will just boost your tiktok it's like crazy i know it's wild it is tiktok is is crazy i love tiktok yeah we can't do a new platform oh i know but it is just so good for businesses too so was so it's fun fun it is so have good times yeah tiktok is fun yeah i like tiktok it's i love the running jokes though of how it's so far ahead of instagram reels it's like i was in light years i know i was seeing comments of the submarine and it's like oh instagram reels finding out five years about been missing submarine yeah back that's like i see the best stuff on tiktok like ten days before it shows up on instagram for sure yeah yeah five like i can't understand people who are aren't on tiktok i'm like well you're missing out so jokes on you right yeah the best it's like well tiktok what is the saying vine walks so tiktok could run wow man vine was great fine was fine was vine was fun that was fun just seven seconds of fun you know yeah i'm on the vine algorithm on tiktok occasional i'll get on the buying algorithm vines pop up yeah mh and i'm like oh yeah to be in this lifetime again and the those poor vine stars man they crashed hard they didn't focus on any other platforms and then they ended up like just sinking when buying sank yeah some of them were able to transition over but some of them just went down with the ship the mind ship yeah oh mine was so fun though man it was i wonder if there's gonna be like a new app that's gonna like what the next thing well life's gonna club house club house was like so hot i was obsessed with club house i never got on it and i was so upset i have an android oh i have an android and and it wasn't available for androids so i was like i missed that but then it was like what didn't matter that i missed it it was this it was the highest hyped app that was the shortest lived app that thing took off like wildfire and then just the next literally i've never seen anything like that where it was overnight just no more it was insane and i think the hype part of it was you had to be invited so it felt very exclusive yep and and then i think because it was i remember on facebook like anybody have anymore invites i wanna get it yes yes yes oh man it was so hot it was i was in so many club house groups like i was listening so much but this was during twenty twenty when there was nothing else going on and now i'll like occasionally get an alert about club house and i'm like ugh i just might go delete it's weird i it's like was it because of the pandemic yeah know totally totally people just thrived on that but like then why why did it stop did it just get spam no didn't think it's spam me i think what happened is people started getting out of their houses in because i was literally sitting at home listening to it and i was yeah like playing with my cricket listening to club house oh got it got it that makes sense yeah i just think it it was the pandemic social app it was it was and now of the pandemic yeah and it had some great info there was some great rooms but it just it it knows died for sure and i i want i keep hearing about that new one but i was it lemon what is it lemonade oh lemonade lemonade eight i don't get it it's like it's like pinterest and it's by tiktok it's tiktok other app i think that that was like their way of like well if we get banned like we go on to lemonade i could see it maybe getting popular but not like tiktok popular because it's not it's reads like a pinterest feed and the beauty about tiktok as you open the app and you're immediately like hooked because a video you open app and a video automatically starts playing and if you don't like it swipe you're automatically hooked on a new video like it's in instant gratification tiktok is like totally mindless right and just total like fix fiction well and the thing about tiktok two is that the algorithms are just they're genius because it's gonna be videos that are catered to you so i mean i got on a theo von algorithm and that's all i was seeing for hours and crying laughing like are those orc whales like i watched one full video that orc like destroying a boat and now like i'm just seeing all the and i'm like the orc have got out of control and it's like i know they have but not on the scale that i perceive it because i that's all i see right or it's like my parents they don't understand that their feed is different than my feet i'm like i don't see what you see like my dad's always like oh my instagram is always like girls and bikini and i'm like dad what are you looking at like my instagram feed looks nothing like that at at all not as like i don't get it i'm like i bet you do get it right he's he's clicking on those right yeah doing a little zoom yeah yeah it takes weird instagram is just nixon and bikini it takes one click and you're down a rabbit hole yeah that's it one click and it's game over i wanna hear about your crazy your crazy client and kinda how you dealt with that yeah i think when it was happening i was communicating with you but probably not to the full extent because like she was a client at the time and so like but well i think it'll be helpful for your listeners to know like how you professionally handle it and how you navigate it and that it does happen you know so this one was professionally handled and it wasn't to me this was on her and you know i was the crazy one who ghost to my client this time no and this was this was pretty recently this was when i was pregnant so you know maybe like two years ago so it was pretty recently but so it was like pandemic time right and a lot of people and because i work with e commerce and a lot of them were freaking out if they had merchandise in stores because people couldn't purchase right so if they heavily were relied on brick and mortar right they had a website but like that was at their main revenue driver their main revenue driver was like in store purchases right but stuff closed down people couldn't go in stores right so they were like well we gotta go all in on our e commerce right we gotta pick up the slack and i mean people spent money during the pandemic we we got our people got there what was it there oh the stimulus checks they got those checks and send at home board nothing to do spending that money right so like honestly during that time all of my clients thrived they thrived during the pandemic because everybody ordered everything online right the online market thrived and then hardware stores drive yeah it's well skin care thrive too there was that whole like oh we could talk about you know instead of acne there was mask me that was like a huge angle to play up for like skincare brands where it's like combat your mask me and because like all our skin got irritated from those masks so it was like how do we how do we treat our skin so because i'm in the beauty and skin skincare niche and so we were able to play it up really well and you know people wanted to buy stuff that made them feel good you're second side day like you wanna feel good but anyway so she came to me during this time because she's like well we have to go hard on commerce that's not our main bread and butter but stuff stores are shut so we we have to drive traffic so they had facebook ads up and okay so when they brought me on they were at like a point three return on ad spend it's called ro which means how much money they put in and how much money they got out right so if you're at a one ro as that means you put a dollar in you made a dollar right so one is like we're break and so anything over one is good now we're getting profit obviously minus like cost for goods but so if you're at around a one point five a two is more ideal and then anything i think above a two is like you're good you're good so she came to me at like a point it was like a point three or a point five so she was in the negative right she was losing money on facebook ads bad place to be not where you wanna be right so that's where she came to me i i i gave her an audit and she's like help me help me like my facebook ads like they need to be profitable and then she was telling me about how ten years they were like ten years ago they were profitable and like yeah no kidding everybody's facebook ads were profitable ten years ago like like you know things get saturated things changed and you you have to work harder and pay to play and they can get profitable but it it takes time and effort and just go okay so sw i gave her an audit it and i was like listen for the last year you've been negative right and i was like here is a strategy and a plan we can combat this and i always tell clients you know like at least give it ninety days i can't guarantee results nobody can guarantee anything like life is not guaranteed but let's put together a strategy let's test some things like give it ninety days if in ninety days none of that works we don't see some sort of like right direction or path to go in then you know maybe either we have to completely rest strategize or like this just isn't gonna like cut it for our business relationship right and so she was anticipating me to be some sort of miracle worker right she's like oh so you're gonna like get us at like a five rowe like in a week and i'm like no like never said that i would never say that like ever i am so realistic with my clients and it's just like i don't know where she got that mind frame from but so she was like gun c on that that i was gonna get her like five ro which is like it's insane that's really really good and it's just like there's always no chance i would get yeah maybe in five years but like we need to at least get you to break okay honey like we gotta get you to break even and i was like for the last year you've been at a negative right so if if all of last year you were cool with it like you can't come in and expect it to change overnight like if you were upset that you were at a negative like you should have come like seven months ago eight months ago like you shouldn't have let it run this long being negative right and so obviously i i think i worked with her for for ninety days right she gave it ninety days but so we went from like a one point three i mean a a point three or a point five and i ended up getting her to like a one point seven in ninety days so almost to a two in ninety days and that's like we were testing audiences we were testing creative and she was just absolutely insane during the entire process she would like call in the middle of the night email in the middle of the night and like her emails would be like story books like pages long about everything that i'm doing wrong what i need to fix she would tell me well that's not how the last guy did it and i'm like honey the last dude made you guys negative why would i why would you want me to do it to the way your last guy did it and so i was just like i don't understand and i swear she was bipolar because she would tell me one thing in an email and then call me and say it completely different thing and i'd be like that's not what you just said and she's like who said that i wouldn't say that and i would literally like copy what she said in an email and forward it to her and be like this is directly where you said it and she's like i can't help it do you understand things differently than how i say them i'm like whoa like you're crazy and then she would like she would tell me i have to get on her slack and then all of her like weird like communications with her business where it's like i'm not in house like you give me the creative i send you over the ad mock up you approve it and i run it like that's how this relationship works right and she would want me in on all of her weird marketing meetings and then tell me in front of other people what i was doing wrong and i'm like what i'm doing wrong girl like it's been like thirty days and you're over break when the whole last year or you were negative it's like i i physically cannot understand how you're communicating this to me it got to a point where she was just like i knew that this the call that we got to the last call she was gonna you know like be like whatever and she still didn't even fire me i had to be like this isn't working like you're crazy crazy it would just be crazy one night she'd be like you're a disaster you're terrible at what you do i can't believe you would let this happen to my ad account and the next day should be like numbers look good thank you good job and it was like like she's crazy she's crazy and so i was like you know what give it ninety days we'll be in a good place and then by the ninety day point she like called me and she's like we're not at a five and i was like who said anything about a five you came up with that number you're telling yourself i would have never came up with that number you said it at like in your head you're like it's gonna happen in ninety days just like we're not at of five what do you suggest we do we're paying you all this money obviously not even been paying me that much but you're we're paying you all this money it's always the ones that are paying the money always yeah never always and i was like you know what like this isn't working out you're not happy with what i'm doing i've got you to a place that you've been better in the last year in ninety days and you're not happy with it because you want me to do what the last guy was doing that tanked you like i'm sorry i don't understand it's not a working relationship and she was like oh so you're just breaking this off and i was like look i was trying to be polite and professional about it but i was also trying to get her off the phone and being like i'm done with you so i was like i'll review our contract and like you know we'll see how we can am resolve this relationship and she's like oh what you don't even know what's in your own contracts like you you don't need you set me a contract you don't even know what's in it i was like first of all my head i was like i don't know exactly what's in my contract i'm just trying to get you off the the phone and so i can send you an email like okay like i'll work for the next thirty days or whatever like you know and then like be done i literally told i was like i know it's in my contractor says either one of us has thirty days to end the relationship i'm ending the relationship right now was just trying to be polite but i was like you know i i'm really happy with the results i've driven for you and it's a shame that we can't move this further but you know it the end of the day you have to be happy with the results if you're not happy with them like we can be done and she was like okay fine and so she's like don't even finish the the last thirty days don't even finished i was like fine like thank god yeah and so i obviously did it at and then it was like what like six months later she like sent me an email and she's like hey like basically she was like hey our relationship yeah and all of this and she's like i have a friend who like needs facebook like i recommended you because you're the best i was like what and so i was like you know what i'm not entertaining crazy i'm not even gonna respond like no like no she reaches out to me to another email she sends me a an instagram dm a facebook message and a linkedin message saying like hey did you get my email like hey like i have work for you like and then it started to get like negative where i was like you should be appreciative of like me sending you all this work and was like oh my god i had to like block her everywhere i was like she's crazy that is crazy you know not making light of of that at all but some people are just even are just that way with their business yeah i mean just unfortunately yeah it would be easier to navigate if i actually knew that she had you know maybe be some something going on and i think i purchased really believe like i said her business might have really been suffering because of the pandemic and so she was freaking out and all of this but like also like like this is not how you operate business no like not sliding me yeah it was it was was a whirlwind and i was like and i i let it go way too long i should've have i should have cut that relationship off real quick but it's hard as if it's just yeah and as a business owner you wanna succeed and you wanna see your clients succeed like a hundred percent feel good if you don't do a good job yeah and so i mean she was making me feel like i was doing a good job when like i had her better than she's ever been in the last over the last year in like you know within weeks and she was like no but you can't make everybody happy unfortunately but i think the biggest like saving grace to and for everybody is to have it in writing like i i mean anything that i enjoy is like in writing and it just to cover my cut c y you know especially when it comes to stuff like that if you know there's gonna be there potentially it could be an issue it's like email you have it in writing text message you have it in writing so yep i think that's yeah huge huge and that's honestly why my contracts with my clients are month to month and it's not only so that they can get out if they're not happy it's so i can get out if i'm not happy like if you're crazy or like it's not a good relationship i can be like hey bye like month to month i'm calling it this is our last month like goodbye i personally couldn't operate any other way and it's like i couldn't lock a client into like a six month contract and then like what if neither one of us are happy it's like what are we doing you know yeah no i am the same exact minor month to month i just ask for a thirty day notice i think it's thirty day fifteen thirty day notice for stand from parties so yeah mh i asked for that because i think that's because i could have already started working on your content for that month so right exactly don't i love month to month and and again it's because you wanna you want your client to be happy and if the the relationship is not working you can can cut ties and be done with it yeah and it's like if they're not happy and they're still paying you like it's never gonna end well you know no like you lock them into a contract no no so yeah and i mean i think that's how everything goes in life especially with our businesses and you know although these digital disasters had to happen and like but like messing up my first client and then having a crazy client and dealing with these things and either failing or just dealing with a really negative client is something that you have to deal with and i don't think failure especially having gone through it in the very beginning was something that is to be feared right if failing never feels good nobody wants to fail but it's a part of business and it's a part of growth like there's like this quote i saw that was you know if you haven't failed you also haven't succeeded right because like you can't get to success or to a place of growth if you haven't failed and learned from those mistakes and figured out how to get and it's like i don't think i would have been as good for my second client had i not messed up so bad with my first client that i was like i see all the mistakes i made i saw all of the negatives from them from me and how i need to operate moving forward and it's like so good that i got it out of the way early on and was like okay i can wash my hands clean of this i'm done i failed it's okay i can pick myself back up now i know what to do moving forward you can't let stuff like that define you you know you just have to power through it like it totally sucks like i've been there i have messed up too and it's it's gut wrench for me i'm like oh my gosh but at the same time you just you gotta keep going and keep keep moving forward with it and i mean especially like it's your business i mean this is how you make your money and so you know i have a family you have a family like it it's and and we love what we do so i've learned so much from when i accidentally started a social media manager up until this point like you learn what works you learn what doesn't work and then you just grow and you make your business even better yeah and i would say for people who because a lot of people who are always interested in things that we do and wanting to start and they're always psych themselves out and talking themselves out because they're scared to make a mistake or make a failure and i always try to say like it's a good thing to fail especially early on because no matter what you do no matter how good you are you're gonna mess up somewhere you're gonna fail and it's like just know that that's part of the process and that show is baby like no business is a hundred percent of success you know exactly we fail up we fail up that's right this has been so fun so much i'm so glad you were able to join me yes thank you so much for having me i'm so honored to be your first the following should not be cons as financial legal or tax advice my experiences are all anecdotal and should be used as examples or inspiration for your own ventures hi guys hi anti aesthetics welcome back to another podcast seven day weekend guys well will i hope you guys all had a great week or if it was a seven day weekend a great weekend today on the pod we're gonna get into why i personally believe school is a scam a little bit of a controversy but you know i'm gonna give you guys my take on it and just why i see it from that viewpoint disagree i would love to hear your thoughts as well but just to talk a little bit about what i've been up to if you guys are curious i recently booked a lot of speaking events which i'm super super excited about it's gonna be all about ai and everything i've learned and how to really leverage it and maximize it to its fullest potential so that's really cool that i've got going on and i do have kind of a funny or interesting story so i don't know if you watched one of my tiktok videos that i made it was about how i recently turned down and offer to do a sponsored post and that post was going to be ten thousand dollars for one post but they had the usage rights to use that post for an ad for like six months and so first of all for me personally my tiktok is purely organic i haven't made a single dime or a single penny from either tiktok as a creator or sponsored post or collaborations everything has been purely organic and just you know coming from solely from me with no ul motives behind it and i really like it that way that's how i like it that's how i know my followers trust me and they follow me because of those reasons a lot of the times so for me to do a sponsored post it's not like i'm against it but it would first and foremost have to be something that i truly like and find value in and that i know my audience would also truly like and find value in and so first of all it doesn't matter how much money it would be if if it doesn't bring you guys value my audience value my followers value i'm just not gonna share it it's not it's not worth it for me to sabotage my relationship with my audience and second of all i would just also have to be worth my while to even entertain it and i know that if i did a post that they could also run as an ad for six months which is insanity they could potentially make hundreds of thousands of dollars off of this ad that they're gonna be running of me for you know six months and for my followers to see an ad of me pop up for six months could be very frustrating and they could then see my other videos that aren't even sponsored posts and just scroll right past it because they're like probably just another ad so i'm definitely at an interesting place as far as collaborations and my tiktok goes and i bring that up because right before this right before we started recording i got another email from potential collaboration and i was like i gotta lay it out to you guys like in all transparency i don't wanna jeopardize my relationship with my audience like it's gotta be worth my while and you guys can't run it as an ad so stay tuned i'll let you know how that goes you know at the end of the day a business woman if they're gonna pay the big bucks and it's worth your guys time i might take them up on that offer but we'll see ten thousand dollars isn't worth it for me to jeopardize my relationship with my audience so i like to see that as i value it you guys more than ten thousand dollars so that was just a little funny story i wanted to update you guys on and i thought i'd share but enough of that let's get into the pod and discuss why i personally think school is a scam so here is why i personally think school as a scam and i know this is a very controversial topic a lot of people can go really hard one way or the other but for me i always like to say is that you know society sold us a lot and then makes us pay interest on it because as far as school goes you know society has made us believe that if we go to school you know it's ingrained in us even since we're a little kid like you gotta grow up you gotta go to school you gotta go to college you gotta get a job you gotta get you know a salary and insurance and benefits in yada yada yada it's just drilled in us i mean i know it was drilled into me that like the only road roadmap to success is to graduate from college and get a degree and get a good job and i just at least for me want other people to know that that is not your only option a school is not your only option and the majority of school especially in today's age is a scam let's get into it so first of all i think it's just to standardized right school is just not for everyone the practices showing up to class every single day and you know you're learning from one particular person yeah they might be reading or following along a book or teaching a lesson but it's really from a perspective of one person and the way that one teacher might operate isn't the way you learn necessarily and so it can make it really hard for people who it's just not the way they learn they like learning they wanna learn but you know standardized schools and tests just isn't for everyone and i don't i really don't like that aspect of it we also live in the digital age so we don't even really need school anymore i personally believe that you learn way more online for for in a way quicker amount of time than you do from from school i think you learn a lot more from you know watching youtube videos going to youtube university than you do from reading a book that's probably dated from a professor who has been teaching the same thing for forever it's not even up to date anymore and so when i say school i mean college right i don't necessarily have too much of a problem with for you know like primary school or anything like that but as far as college goes i think it is a joke to have to pay for and go into mountains of debt to pay for a piece of paper just saying that you basically retained information you and then you're gonna be str with paying off that debt for pretty much the rest of your life i saw a statistics somewhere that said like by the time you're forty you still probably have at least twenty thousand dollars in student loan debt which is insanity right why are we going to school for four years and pay like a shit ton of money and at the end basically you get this piece of paper that just says hey i retained a bunch of information give me a job and then you're gonna have to work you know probably a shitty job where you're not gonna make a lot of money right off the bat you know in the thirty to forty five thousand dollar range and you're gonna have starting out your life crippled in debt i think that to me is a scam i don't think that schools higher education should be for profit right i understand they gotta cover their costs maybe the government shouldn't have to cover all their costs and they gotta cover it so you know students can take out loans but for profit and for profit loans is insanity to me and the loans are literally scamming you if you have to pay thirty percent on a private loan for your education like that's a scam i know when i went to school i actually dropped out of school i went for about half of a semester and i was studying computer science because i was like oh women in tech i'm gonna make so much money and i started taking some css classes and it was just so mind numbing that an entire class could be spent on you know learning the something that you could learn online in two hours basically it was painful it was painful for me to sit through it and i'm like i paying for this i have to pay for this it's crazy to me and there's a lot of especially a lot of degrees marketing digital marketing which is what i do now that learning in school is doesn't even relate to real life what you learn in school for digital marketing doesn't even apply to real life they're gonna teach you the basics and the foundation and the principles but not actually like diving in and what it actually takes to get you know other companies profitable and that's only something that you can gain that from experience rather than education my opinion experience super seeds education every single time and i know a lot of you guys will be like oh well you know my doctor he needs to go to school or my lawyer he needs to be educated and have a degree i it's like you know what honestly i really don't think so i think if we here's here's is the world i would like to live in for education purposes right it would just simply be like four years or if your doctor more years but four years of a paid internship so you can work for a company that company will pay you to be an assistant and do all the grunt work and you shadow people you know you shadow a lawyer you do like accountant and work you are an assistant to an accountant and that's how you become accountant after four years and i think you would be way better off you would know way more and you would have experience rather than you know you reading some thing from a book for four years and then you go out into the real world and you realize it's nothing like that and that comes with everything that comes with being a doctor too right a doctor can't just go to school and sit and read bunch of books on medical stuff they actually have to put into practice before they become a licensed doctor and i just think you know if we did all education in that forum that's just the world i someday would really like to live in so you know forget school crippling debt and get everybody paid and had everybody some actual real experience not only experience in the skill and the knowledge but experience in the real world i know it's a shock for a lot of people when they come out of school and they get a job and they're like man the real world blows like working a job nine to five this blows and they go back to school they'll go and get their mba they'll get their masters and it's because school is such a breeze and so easy that they would rather do that than deal with the real world and so i think that and they would pay for it to and i mean i know teachers who make absolutely nothing it's criminal and they are crippled in debt and they you know try to go back to school to get even more education to get a little bit of a pay bump and it's just it's it's a crime honestly teachers should do you know i know that they have them right where it's like a teacher's aide and for i think they have to do that for like six months before they can actually graduate and get their teaching degree they have to actually do in taught like in real person learning through a teacher as a teacher's aide it's like why couldn't they just do that for four years so i only will the teacher get help but also four years of that is way better than sitting behind a desk and reading a book on how to teach i know it's controversial but it's my opinion and that's my opinion still stands and i guess i get that for a lot of people school was like oh my god the best time of my life like ride or die for their school and their colors and their sports teams their so attorney they would have you but it's you're basically paying for than just a very long and expensive party which if that's what you wanna do i mean have at it but as far as education goes that part is isn't really what you're gonna get your money's worth as far as it being you know real life experience and i think a lot of people also will tell me you know oh well you go to school and your network your network you know you join so and you join f you make lifelong connections that later down the line become prospective business relationships and it's like you guys we live in a digital age you can make connections unlike ever before you don't have to be in a f in order to to meet important people you can meet them organically in the same types of scenarios on the internet so i i have yet to have somebody come back at me with a point that i could be like okay maybe school isn't a scam i'm kinda waiting on that point so if anybody has one i would love to hear it i'm definitely open to it but i ask school a scam and or higher education college is a scam and you you really can't convince me otherwise so with that being said we are going to move on to my next segment it's a perfect transition this segment is called you can thank me later and i will be giving you guys some you can thank me later segments future podcast podcasts just some little tips tricks and things that you will be able to thank me later about because they should help you in your life so here is i thank me later that i think you guys will really find beneficial because it's like okay well right school a scam okay nobody's going to school but okay but now what do we do right if nobody's got a degree if we're not getting degrees how do we get jobs how do we make a living what is it that we do so i am going to give you guys a crash course on what it is that you can do to make lots of lots of money and this is anybody can do this very beginner friendly and obviously no degree necessary and you guys can thank me later so this is what we do right you can become an expert in any field any digital skill and learn these things completely and totally online for free so what does a digital skill look like for me i offer clients digital skills or services and it is meta ads so that includes facebook and instagram ads i also do tiktok ads and i also do email marketing but there are plenty of other digital skills you could learn seo graphic design website development even bookkeeping if you can do it on a computer without having to be at a set location that's a digital skill if other people will pay you for it that's a digital skill so any of these things you can learn online for free i learned how to do facebook ads tiktok ads instagram ads is the same thing as facebook ads and email marketing from youtube right i i researched everything i could i watched hundreds and hundreds of videos you know you have to definitely comb through a lot of a fluff and not relevant stuff but you will get some good stuff there and you will learn a lot and you can learn it a lot faster than if you went to school that's for sure so learn a digital skill learn something that pays you really well and that's in high demand those things can be easily looked up in research right which is something that you should do if you're going to school anyway it always blows my mind when i hear that a teacher who's making you know forty thousand dollars a year is a hundred thousand dollars in debt it's like how did you not you know research that so for me the high paying skills digital skills that you can learn online for free you're always in the advertising space right so google ads tiktok ads facebook ads those pay the most because that is where people are spending the most money i have clients who spend hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars a month on facebook ads on tiktok ads which means they're making double or triple that in return and so to manage that you get paid very well right and those are things you can't even major in school you can't major in metal marketing you can't major in tiktok ads so it's really something you can only learn online for free so learn something online for free take a course things give yourself a free youtube university crash course learn everything you can about it and become an expert in it right once you become an expert in it then you can position yourself as such and how you're gonna do that is you're gonna create some social channels you know an instagram account a tiktok account facebook account a linkedin account and you will become the go to person in that skill everything about your social platforms will be about that skill and how you're offering these services and how you're an expert in it now once you've learned the skill become an expert in it and positioned yourself as such you can move on to actually booking clients you can go on to places like up upwork linkedin and indeed and you can find high paying clients who will pay you for these services and these skills and that's pretty much how you could make that happen that is what i did it is a extremely solid road map i've seen it replicated over and over and it's become successful over and over and if you were to do this like say you know you're debating going to school right you're like man should i go i graduated high school do i go to college like i really don't want wanna go college but what's the alternative right i could probably bet that if you instead for four years did this instead of four years of school by the time all your friends graduate from college you would be a light years ahead of them light years not only will you have learned digital skill that's in high demand you'll also have tons of experience under your belt and you'll already have been making a ton of money so that is the alternative there's plenty of other alternatives too i know plenty of people who make tons of money doing stuff that they didn't go to school for that they didn't need to have to sit behind a desk to learn that if you have some motivation and some drive you can learn yourself you could teach yourself these things i haven't had a single client ask me if i have a degree or if i have any certificate like are you facebook advertised certified not one of them has asked me that question because it's just okay you're an expert you can do this like it doesn't matter if you went to school yeah you guys could thank me later on that one alright guys so i know that was a lot so let's go into the next section where i answer some of your guys questions so let's get into it guys you guys always give me some really good questions especially about this topic you know if like school such a scam then what do we do if you wanna go into the digital marketing space or just learning a skill you know how do you really navigate that and what does that look like so here are some of the questions that i get most frequently asked from you guys let's get into it so one of the questions i get you know is but don't i need a degree like i need a degree so i can get a job and i need a job so i can have benefits and so i could have health insurance right and this question to me always it's always so funny to me because it's just that's part of what we're so ingrained to believe right that society has told us it's like the only way you can have benefits and health insurance is if you have a degree and you have a good job and you can only get a good job is if you have a degree right and it's like i have health insurance i have benefits i have a four zero one k my health insurance for my whole family of three my husband and my baby is about the price of a car payment it's cheaper than most people i know that have a job that their job supposedly pays for some of their insurance and i have a four zero one k i have plenty of other investments too you don't need a job to have these things right if you're making money you can set all of this stuff up you don't need a job for any of this and people are always like oh if you work for yourself and health insurance is so much i don't know where that came from because it's really not that pricey at all it's probably less than what you have to get through your job and i have good insurance i have really good insurance so you don't need a degree you don't need a salary job you don't need the job in order to get health benefits and insurance so and yeah and other benefits like taking time off i work for myself i can take off as much time as i want i don't have to worry about pto so for me it's like it it seems crazy because it's like you have way more benefits if you actually work for yourself or freelancer or do contract work then you do if you work a salary position and so okay another question is right here's a big question where if you wanna get into the kind of field that i'm in right and when i went over the crash course i said you know you become an expert in this field but how do you actually so here's the question it's how do you actually book clients in a field or an industry if you don't have any credibility right why would somebody hire you if supposedly you're just an expert in it you don't have a degree and you don't have any experience right okay so here is the explanation and as i mentioned earlier i've never once had a single client asked me hey do you have to agree in this like where did you go to school do you have any sort of certificate in this no because they don't care they really don't care at the end of the nobody cares so long as what you can do is actually good and there are plenty of ways to navigate being a beginner and starting out and booking clients or work without any previous experience right and we can go over those i can touch on them a little bit one is you can show work that you're capable of producing right so you can do plenty of mock ups of work that you're capable of producing you've learned the skill through and through you can come up with things that you would do for potential clients and industry so say take the health industry take hospitality industry and do some mock up work for those industries and you can showcase those in a portfolio as work i am capable of producing and there are plenty of other tips to to navigate that everybody has to start somewhere you can offer discounted rates as a beginner you can do work for friends and family in order to build some experience in case studies plenty of options it's like that's that shouldn't even be a worry because everybody has to start somewhere and you'll get experience you'll make it happen and then the neck question is always and this is this is when my mom my mom would always say to me or have a concern about and it is but having a degree is a safety net if i don't have a degree and something like this doesn't work out won't i just be screwed because my mom always like this doesn't work out you don't have a a degree to fall back on air quotes to fall back on and it's like if you learn a skill you're better off you have something you can fall back on a skill is something you can fall back on because i mean you don't tell somebody who went to cause school that now they don't have a degree what do they have to fall back on it's like they have their cosmo law license they can fall back on that and personally i think you're honestly more screwed with a degree because you're totally pigeon hold if you ask a teacher if they hate their job as a teacher ask them one other job they can get with their degree it's literally nothing it's it's bogus they'll have to go back to school in order to get a different job with a different degree and it's also like totally limiting your mindset because you're just gonna have it in your head that if you have a degree that this is all you can do because that is what you studied that is what you pay for and you're stuck doing it and you have no other options right so it's it's also just it's totally a mindset thing and this was a fan comment and this always comes from people who technically might be a little bitter when i say these things right because they like school they had fun in school they had a blast like best time of their life and i get that i'm sure it was fun and i'm glad you got that out of it and so one of the questions i get sometimes or variations of this question is like well you know i i go to school i i major in something that i'm passionate about and so i'm surrounded by other people who are passionate around about it and you know i'm with my people i'm with like minded people so like isn't that a good reason to go to school and it's just like what i mean we're we're reaching here because it's like you can find like minded people everywhere go join groups facebook groups you can join clubs you can get involved in stuff where there's people that are like minded with you the world is literally your oyster i mean you're limited if you're only option to find like minded people is in the same areas you right you have the internet you can find like minded people everywhere it's like thank goodness we have the internet and we have free resources online to where we can find like minded people and do activities with like minded people and get involved that way and it's like i get it if you enjoyed school and you felt passionate about it but you know i also like to say like i like to be around people who think like me right that always creates a positive place but i also like to be around people who disagree with me sometimes too i need a good balance of both i i get a lot of constructive criticism and it's not always pleasant to hear and i get other people's perspectives that i don't necessarily agree with but i think it's healthy and i i think it's probably a bad thing if you're surrounded by only people who think exactly like you i think that that just can lead to you know one way of thinking and you know sometimes i don't wanna hear opinions i don't like but i'm always i'm always open to it so i i don't think that that would be enough of a selling point for me as to as to why we need to go to school as so we can be you know with our people we we got our people everywhere alright and another question i typically get is you know colleges a way to help our young minds navigate and decide what it is we wanna do with our lives you know we're going to take some classes we're gonna figure out what we wanna gear our life towards and what we want our future to look like and how can we figure that out if we don't go to school and for me i honestly have the exact opposite opinion of that i mean for me it's like when i went for the short stint that i did it was like okay we have to pick a major right and it's like now i've learned all this stuff but it's like how do i actually even know i like doing this job for example my sister she graduated with her accounting degree got a job in accounting and guess what she hates accounting and she just wasted four years of her life you know learning all about something and now she's kinda stuck with vic because what else are you gonna do and she's like i i kinda wish i had tried out maybe a bunch of different things first before i decided what it is i want to do and really the only way to to figure out what you actually like doing is to try those things you can't just sit in the desk read about it because sometimes in theory it sounds so glamorous or it sounds you know i get this a lot with girls who like to go into into p r it's like oh i'm gonna do public relations i'm gonna host all these parties and do like event planning and all of this stuff and it's like sometimes in theory those things sound really nice and really fun and then actually doing them is a whole other story and you might not actually like doing it you just more so like the idea of it and you don't get to actually experience things and sometimes i know a lot of i've heard this story from a lot of students before that where they're getting close to the end of their degree and they're like i don't know if this is what i actually like and they're kinda like well i i can't really change it at this point i'm kinda stuck now i think you're better off if you your heart is set on going to school i think maybe take a year before you even go to school and try a couple things try a couple things see what actually speaks to you and that you actually enjoy doing and then be like okay i i feel like this is it for me i'm gonna go all in i'm gonna go to school for it right i i think that would be a better situation for you and then that kinda leads to an another question which is like oh okay well you know then if we don't wanna pay you know exorbitant fees for private schools or for state schools that are just super expensive it's like woody do do you recommend you know going to a community college and getting your associate's degree and i mean if you're you know you want if you wanna be a lawyer right you have to go to school i don't i don't think you should but you have to write you can't practice law unless your your you have a law degree and you have to go to school for that right so if that's what you wanna do that your passion and there's no other option for you you wanna do that i'm all for it and i do think going to community school first is beneficial it'll be a lot cheaper for you it's no nonsense you know you're gonna go to a four year school four two year state school and it's gonna be a lot of party right those state schools they love a party they're college campus life is party hardy and i mean if you're privy to that go for it but if you just really wanna get your degree and be smart about it i i do think community college is a better way to go but you know for anything else where you don't technically need a degree i don't recommend it i just don't recommend any higher education whatsoever unless like i said you wanna be a doctor and the only way to become a doctor if you go to school right i can tell you i did have two salary positions when i was navigating through what it is i do now some months were really good some months were really bad so i to get jobs in between i mean i worked pretty much you know part time anyway but some months were really and i was scrambling like okay i gotta i get a job and so i would go on you know indeed and the linkedin and look for jobs and the two salary jobs that i've ever had in my life both required a bachelor's degree i was like well i ain't got those i applied anyway you know with my education listed as high school being the highest education and i got those jobs i got both of those jobs and they both require a bachelor's degree because at the end of the day nobody actually cares it comes down to more so is if you can actually do the job and you know if a company likes you if you're gonna be a good fit for the company so yeah if you wanna go to community school because you absolutely need to get a degree for the job that you want so be it but other than that like you don't need school you just don't need it so you guys that about wraps it up again i would love to hear your opinions and your thoughts i know i get a lot of extreme one way or the other if you totally agree with me or you totally don't and i would love to open up the conversation with you guys on why you guys also agree with me or if you disagree with me like i think it would be really cool if somebody could actually change my mind on the opinion i challenge you to try and change my mind like let's get this conversation the following should not be cons as financial legal or tax advice my experiences are all anecdotal and should be used as examples or inspiration for your own ventures welcome back anti h and welcome back to my brand new hi webcast seven day weekend within me visit digital laura anderson to reiterate each week i'm going to be motivating you guys to get out of your comfort zone especially out of the corporate grind and learn new ways to work for yourself so remember each week i'm going to be tackling a new topic and sometimes bring on some very special guests since together we'll go into all the tips and tricks i've have learned on how to build a sustainable business out of the con of your typical corporate hustle and so today on the show drum roll police we're gonna be talking about what is chat gp and of course ai in general so welcome back i'm super excited to get into this topic it is obviously one of my all time favorite topics i was just talking earlier about how i can go on and on and on about this topic so it's been kind of a crazy week for me my husband who is a stay at home dad has been out of town so i am literally a juggling work baby he's not in daycare so i've been doing all of my work and watching our one and a half year old and you know what i am making it happen and i am here recording this podcast so i'm super excited this i know this is only my second episode but this is probably might be my favorite episode because i'm obsessed chat and you guys should be too because it is the newest technology it is going to be the greatest technology in our lifetime i truly believe the internet walked so that ai a chat gp could run let's get into the topic of the day which is as i mentioned my most favorite topic this chat ai have transformed my life and i'm shorts transformed yours and i'm just really excited to get into it with you guys so chat gp and ai are you guys confused don't worry a lot of people are i am going to break it down for you a little bit so what is chat gp right first of all it's a website and the most common thing i see from you guys is asking where can i download it first and foremost is not something you download do not download anything don't download anything on your app store i'm pretty positive if they have an app now but don't even worry about it it is open dot com chat gp it is a web browser and so what it is it's a language artificial intelligence model basically all that it is is an extremely sophisticated predict a text i like to tell people imagine it's your personal assistant that knows literally everything so if you have a question like need a recipe along with the shopping list to go with that recipe ask chat ep need help negotiating a raise at your job or drafting the perfect resume ask chat ep need some advice on how to navigate during a tough time ask chat gp it knows all and it can help you with literally anything and it's just a chatbot right so you're just talking to it and when i say treat it like a personal assistant i mean communicate it communicate to it as well as like it's a personal assistant so when you ask if these things and it gives you an answer so say hey give me a recipe for dinner tonight here the things i like put together a really good recipe for me with the recipe it spits out you're like you know what that wasn't the best tell it that say hey you know that wasn't the best can you try harder it will try harder and it'll say like hey well maybe give me some examples of specific things you like and i can do better and it will so that is what chat gp is it is just a very sophisticated language chatbot that can help you do anything and like i said treat it like a personal assistant and when you start to have that mindset and that you can have conversations with it rather than just asking it something and it spits out an answer you'll be able to understand it a whole lot better and use it to your advantage so to access chat gp you're just simply gonna type into google open ai those exact words it's open ai chat gp and the best part about this is it's totally free so once you find open ai chat g you're just gonna click on it should be the first thing that pops up on google click on it and all you have to do is enter your email and you will have full access to it there is a premium subscription if you want to do that i i dabble on both so that way i can tell you guys you know what's happening on both the free version and the paid version and really the only benefit of the pay version right now is you get some extra features like you can browse the internet in real time the unpaid feature it has internet access up to twenty twenty one i believe so those are really the only main difference i believe this subscription is twenty dollars a month but if you're doing basic everyday stuff the free one is perfectly great it works the exact same way it just can't access the internet yet but i believe the free version will eventually it's just they're prioritizing the subscriptions first so as for me being in the digital space the digital marketing space specifically ai it just completely changed my life it's been a total game changer i'm really hoping it's going to be integrated into everything that we do it should be just the same way the internet is so i'm definitely here for it and i know a lot of people are scared right any new technology is doesn't come without its questions it's fear mon yeah you remember the internet and y k they literally told us that the internet was going to explode the planet and guess what nothing happened and same with the internet a lot of people thought that they were going to lose their jobs and you know some people did but it was not this giant shift an overnight thing it's going to be a slow burn and there is nothing really you should even worry about and don't worry i'm gonna get into it a lot more so that is basically what chat and ai is in a nutshell so yeah let's let's really dive into it a little bit more chat honestly has only been out from the recording of this podcast for about six months so if you think about it how much it is done and covered in six months the advancements it's made and a shift in our entire industry life as we know it in six months i mean can you imagine the next six months year five years it's already made such a huge impact and the advancement of ai i believe will be twice as fast as the advanced sm of the internet just because we have that technology and we're able to do it and like i said earlier i truly believe the internet walked so that ai can run i think the ai is going to be even better than the internet and i think we're gonna see our first real trillion error because of ai they're gonna develop some sort of software or something that's going to enable them to be a trillion error so it's crazy times it's it's exciting and it's crazy and i know for a lot of you guys you're scared right but i i i wanna reassure you from a realistic standpoint that's while it can be intimidating and scary and how powerful it is we think we're gonna lose jobs right and i do think we're gonna lose jobs but it's not gonna be some you know overnight scenario where we wake up and ten million jobs are just wiped off the face of the earth right that's not gonna happen that will never happen and it will be a slow a slow burn it's new technology there will be a slow adapt of it and jobs will be phased out not you know an overnight thing they will be phased out but on the flip side there will be jobs created tenfold because of ai literally every single day hundreds of new ai software are developed and they're all these new startups with all these new jobs and it's not something that you have to worry about it's not something you need to lose sleep over your jobs are safe and i think we will get to a point in ai to where you know there will be a price for premium and personalization and that will come from the human aspect of it so anybody and everything can do ai and chat gp but we're gonna even have a premium and a more sophisticated price point for people to human size it so i yeah i mean just don't see it being this giant fear mon thing that people people are playing it out to be so i'm really excited and i'm excited for the advancements and for it to be integrated into our everyday life i mean can you imagine being like hey alexa based on the weather today can you create a fun filled day planned for me and my son plan out all of our meals are snacks where we can go what we can do as you know my son doesn't like the pool so make sure you avoid that recommendation and i i'll go ahead and it'll do that for you and then you can be like okay cool can you book all of that for us and make sure we have that ready to go i don't have gas in car can you tell me the nearest gas station that has the cheapest gas and put that into my google google maps so that as soon as i get in my car set destination to that gas station and then to our next destination i mean it's just a level of convenience that i think will be so much better right who doesn't love convenience and who doesn't love that level of convenience and it's a convenience that we're not gonna have to pay a premium for it's it's it's essentially free because it'll be integrated into everything that we use and if it makes my life easier listen i'm here for it so that's the world of ai i can't wait to to live in and i see it i see it happening pretty soon okay you wanna know how much i love chad ep and how it's made my life so much easier the other day i got a speeding ticket and i was like dang it how do i out of a speeding ticket i literally asked chad hey chad gp i got a speeding ticket how can get out of it and it's like you're gonna need to write like a rebuttal yada yada here's is what you can say and i submitted that and guess what they res resent it and i didn't have to pay that ticket so thanks chad you've saved the day once again okay so i wanna give you guys a really easy example kinda really break into chat just to show you how cool it is and how you can use it just for even your everyday life and what it actually looks like using it the proper way okay so i'm going into chat i'm gonna open up a new chat and here is something that we can all relate to right i need a meal plan for the week okay i have a one and a half year old i also have a husband i don't know where to start in order to cater to all of our specific dietary restrictions what to buy and what to cook right so i'm gonna go to chad ep and i'm gonna say hey chad i'm literally typing this right now so hey chad gp i'm always really nice to chat i think that's very important too so i always popped like hey chad and i say thank you always after it gives me responses just in the off chance that it does come to life i wanna make sure i always treat a chat very nice so i say hey chad up i need a meal plan for me and my family i have a husband and a one and a half year old we need three meals a day plus snacks we don't like gluten and mean no mayonnaise so basic super simple right so i'm gonna go ahead and input that and it goes certainly so here's what i can help you with for a meal plan for you your husband and you're one and a half year old so it goes breakfast options oatmeal fresh fruit i scrambled eggs gluten free pancakes blah blah blah lunch options and dinner options and then snack options right however it didn't really give me a meal plan it just gave me options right so here's lunch options breakfast options and dinner ops okay that's not good enough for me so i say thanks chat gp but i need a more detailed in day to day weekly meal plan the exact meals to cook plus the recipes with it and the shopping list that i will need so it's saying absolutely okay now here we go it's breaking it down exactly so day one we're gonna have scrambled eggs with sauteed vegetables it lists out the ingredients that i only need and then the instructions on how to get it same with lunch it's gonna do a quinoa salad with grilled chicken yeah because all the ingredients for it cup cooked quinoa and then instructions on how to do it so in a large bowl combine the cooked quinoa with grilled chicken breast dinner it's gonna do the same thing it even has snacks it has the meal plans specifically for my one and a half year old too and sometimes you'll notice that it'll just cut off it'll like stop stop writing people like oh it did give me everything i need it completely just stopped all you have to do is be like keep going so i typed in keep going and here it goes it's continuing on with the rest of my meal plan and it's amazing it's telling it's even telling me what to preheat my oven too and then it breaks down the shopping list and it categorize it right so it's like these are of things in dairy you'll need years the things in produce you'll need so that's just a really simplified example on how you can use it and to not stop at the first the first output right so i said i need a meal plan for me my family and this and so what it gears gave me was very generic right and so i had to continue on with the conversation to tell it like okay that's good but like it's not specific enough i want you to actually give me a day to day plan with the recipes and the shopping list i will need for it and then you can tell it okay based on that now make me a meal or a monthly plan as well and it'll do that and you can go on with okay and now i need a fitness plan to go along with it and it'll do it so it's really really powerful and the more information you feed it the smarter gets on that topic so each chat you have make sure you feed it one topic right so this topic for this chat will always be about meal plans and fitness and that stuff and the more information i give it about me and my family the smarter it'll get and the less i'll have to instruct it so moving forward it it'll always know that i have a one and a half year old and a husband so when i ask it to do things it's always gonna take those things into account because i've i've already taught it that i've taught it it knows now who i am what my family is and what they like and so moving forward it'll always take those things into consideration so super super cool i just love it i can't get enough of it i use it for literally everything thing the example i gave to was just a bare minimum example right i barely fed it any information and that's the output it gave me so just imagine the more information you give it the longer your prompts and descriptions are thing the better your outcome will be you will have a super in in outcome people are afraid to tell chat i will tell chat paragraphs of what i need and how specific i need it to be and so then the output i get is really really good and so that's just something always to keep in mind when using ai and chad gp is to always give it exactly what it is that you want and don't be afraid to give it too much information you can't give it too much information the more information you give it the better the response will be always so i wanna give you guys even more tips and tricks on how to use chat right and as i as i mentioned for me at least the number one tip trick is to prompt it properly i saw this crazy stat that said something like ninety nine percent of people that are using chat are using it incorrectly and out of those people only two percent actually found value and using chat gp two percent i mean just based on that meal plan a loan example like that's pretty valuable that's pretty cool that's way better than just asking google and having to do it all yourself no so i wanna give you guys some prompt examples just to you know save hours off of your workday these are some prompts you guys can use to really dabble in it and get your feet wet and using chat to really expand on how you guys use it so here is a really good prompt you can say something to chat like hey chat brainstorm twenty trending ideas for a twitter thread on a recent breaking ai news or any news so we could go back into the submarine so give me some twitter thread ideas on the submarine story and it's gonna come up with some thread ideas that you could start on twitter you can obviously do that with every platform twitter's is just the example i'm using so that's a really great one another prompt you could say is hey chad gp summarize this article into bullet list of the most important information so if there is like a multiple page article right and you don't have the time to read all of it you just copy and paste the entire thing in a chat and you say hey can you just summarize this for me and make bullet points out of the most important part and it'll do it for you another prompt you could say is hey chad gp rewrite this response as if i was a beginner so if you have something that's really hard to digest and you can't figure out how to to break it down or determine it have chat do it for you you can copy the url you can copy and paste whatever the information is if it's like a finance paper that's like just goes way above your head put it at a chat and wanna break it down for you is if you were a beginner or if you were a fifth grader and it'll actually break it down to you in a fun way for you to be able to understand it better let's see okay so another one you can do is hey chad e edit the following text it's for my you could say for my this class if you're in a class you could say if it's for my newsletter if you're a business and you've got a newsletter you could say for a paragraph or an essay and so if you have something that you're really trying to get out there that's not really complete and you need help completing it whether it's an essay for school or a blog post that you're right in or anything even for work copy a paste in a chat and have it finish it for you and tell it to give you better ideas you can even ask get the simplest of questions right so if you're working with a totally blank slate it'll just give you ideas even if the ideas you don't even like it'll it'll just help get your your gears turning right so it's like hey i have a ten year old get give me birthday party ideas he's this aid you could even say something fun like he's an aquarius these are the things he likes what's a great birthday party idea for him that we could do you could even say in my local area and it'll look up areas that are local to you that based on your kid his age thinks that he likes and it will find it all out for you and it it can even tell you how to plan how to book it price range how many people it can accommodate everything so it's really really cool because a lot of people will use it and you know get discouraged because the output is very generic and it's like if you have a generic input where you say something like hey chat eb write me a blog post about gardening and it gives the most generic blog about gardening and it's like well the input you gave it was generic so you didn't give it enough to work with right and that's fine if you have a generic input it's an ongoing conversation so say hey write me a blog post about gardening it writes it's very generic got blog post you say cool thanks chad this was a little generic i wanna talk more about seeds and like cross gardening and all of that stuff can you make sure that these three bullet points are conveyed in the blog post and it'll do it so if the first output is a little generic just work with it tell it more of what you want to see from it and it'll happen for you you know some many people are like i told it to do this and the output was super super wack it's like chat gp literally passed the bar exam it's passed all medical exams and it's even written college level thesis but you think it's whacked just because you asked it a very generic question and it gave you a very generic output so my biggest tip is to always make sure you have good prompts and to work with it right so the first output isn't just the end result it's an ongoing conversation and just keep working with it and the more information you feed it the smarter it gets so that pretty much sums up ai chat gp i could go on forever about it but i don't wanna nerd it out too hard maybe i can do the really nerdy stuff in another episode if you guys are interested i'm always interested in your feedback so let me know if that's something you guys would really like to hear and see from me but i'll make sure to make it happen let's dive into another segment that i will have reoccurring on this podcast is my money maker tip right because i'm all about making that money and doing it the most efficient way without having to work a lot so my money maker tip is based on chat and ai obviously given this episode one really good tip if you wanna start making money literally right now with no capital no funds to start with using ai right you can do resume revisions and people are like that's so generic why why would you pay somebody to use chat to revise start your resume when they could just do it themselves right like anybody can use chat gp why are they gonna pay somebody to use chat gp when they could just do it themselves first of all there's a little bit more to it and second of all i'll tell you this right what's the simplest thing you can do at home for yourself is make a cup of coffee right how hard is it to make yourself a cup of coffee starbucks is still a billion dollar brand and it's literally because they make people a cup of coffee and they charge them for it so no matter how easy the task is how simple they can do it they'll still pay somebody else to do it for them because it's just a convenience right let me talk to you just a little briefly on how to actually do it resume revision properly right so if you have a resume that you need to revise right you're gonna be like okay chat gp i need you to revise this resume for me but here is the job description and so you could do this with each and every job description you have right because i mean with ai you're able to write as many resumes and cover letters as you want so this is what you're gonna do say you're you wanna apply for five different jobs right you're gonna take each of those job descriptions and you're gonna tell chat hey chad i'm gonna apply for this position copy and paste the job description i'm gonna give you my resume and i need you to revise it so that i am seen as a top candidate for this position i need you to position me so that they're gonna want to make sure that i get this job and so then you're gonna copy and paste to your resume and it's going to tailor make your resume so that you seem the best fit for that role and you could do the same thing with the cover letter so you're gonna say okay thanks chad gp now based on all of this write me a cover letter and i want it to sound very personable very friendly not too professional i wanna come off as friendly i'm just gonna go ahead and do that and then you can do that with each and every single job description that you're gonna apply for and obviously you know the first input might not or output might not be the best so you're gonna have to go back and tell it like okay cool i also wanna make sure that this point gets across in the cover letter so can you make sure to include that so while it is still an easy task it's a tax to do that people will just pay for because they themselves don't wanna do it so people will pay good money to revise their resumes you can get paid two hundred bucks per resume to revise and especially if you're gonna offer custom to each job description you can get paid really well to do that so very very cool i actually have a youtube on it that goes into more detail if you're interested in seeing that another really great money maker using ai and chat ep is a website development and guess what you don't need to know how to code anything there are software like it's called ten web there's another one called durable dot ai and these built you websites no joke in thirty seconds you say what the company is a little about us you don't you could use chat to write the about us you say hey here's my company can you write an about me for it job description all of that and it will literally create a really nice it'll have a couple pages too so the the home homepage to contact us page and an about us page and if you have services a service page as well within thirty seconds and then obviously you know you're gonna wanna tailor make it it'll come up with ai generated images you can put in your own images if you choose to so your clients images of their business if they obviously wanna have those in there and any specific descriptions in there as well you can tailor and custom it perfectly for them but i mean building websites used to take months months and you could charge upwards of twenty thousand dollars for a website that now you can do in thirty seconds and i've seen all over five people offering these website services using things like durable and ten web and charging thousands of dollars for it so really cool and let's see the last one i have is going to be for copy writing right and this one is if it's probably the most obvious but copywriting is needed for anything and copy what copywriting is is just copy it's written form so if you see a website everything that's written on there is the copy of it so website description the seo of it product descriptions you know if you have an ad running it's going to be the ad description any written word is copy so companies pay a lot of money to have really good copy chat ep is essentially a copy so you can have it write any type of copy that you want you can even copy and paste the url of whoever your client is and say hey this is my clients they have two new products these are to their two new products i need you to write website descriptions similar or product descriptions similar to their other products but for these new products and it'll go ahead and do it and then say hey i i need some seo meta description for this product page as well and i wanna make sure it ranks really high on google can you go ahead and do all that seo work for me and it'll do it and all of these things i'm seeing freelancers doing on things like fiber and upwork and they're using ai to do it and they're making lots of money doing it so those are some really great ways you can make money right now using ai so guys we're towards the end of the episode and you know what that means i will be answering some of your anti work whole questions and these ones are going to be based on ai and chat gp so these are two questions that i see you guys asking a lot and i mean obviously for a good reason so here is the first question that i really get from you guys right it's like okay so if everybody's using chat gp to do everything isn't everything going to look exactly the same so if i have a client who's using chat eb for their seo and saying hey rank me highest on google and then the competitor is doing the same thing it's just gonna be ai competing against ai right and that is a very solid question and it it does make sense that that's how it's going to be it comes down to and what it'll always come down to is execution right so you're gonna be given the same information not the same information it's always gonna be different chat always gonna give you a different answer no matter where you're asking it from or when it's always gonna give you a variation of the answer so no matter what how you're asking it it's who then takes that information and execute it best right who puts it into play best who rework at best and who makes the outcome produced the best and that's how it always is right it's like competitors and everybody can do i mean right there's two shoe companies there's more than one shoe company and it's like how do some perform better than the others it's they execute better and so that's always what it comes down to bottom line is okay now we all have the same information in the same tools how are we better and how do we execute it on top and that's always comes from the human so you know you guys worried about losing your jobs that part has to have a human aspect so there will always be a human there and then also what i think we're gonna start seeing is there's gonna be a premium price for personalization or human touch right so here's a really good example okay i recently had a job listing for an assistant i needed a personal assistant right so i posted on my social media like hey looking for a personal assistant send resumes to this email as you can imagine i got hundreds of emails and let me tell you every single email i opened was chat obviously on pro chat please use it but every single email was exactly the same it was like hello laura my name is such and such and i am reaching out to you in regards to the opportunity that you posted on social media here is why i'm a great candidate and it just listed bullet points and it was like it was like this is fine and great but it needs a personal touch and right i have hundreds hundreds of qualified individuals applying right so how do i pick from the hundreds of the same exact thing and then it's like at the end of the day if everybody's qualified how do i decide and i decide by like okay who do i actually wanna work with is it the person who i got no feel for who they actually are and they were just super proficient or the person that actually gave me you know a little blurb about them told me how their day was hope how my day is and i could tell there was just a personal touch to it and so out of hundreds of those responses is i only called or set up calls with general two of them and they were the two people that actually showed personalization and human touch so while we'll still see people using chat and obviously you should be using chat to help there will be a premium for that that human touch for sure and that's what's going to make you better than the competitors so then the next question that i always get right is that so this is stealing or this is pla using ai it's just scraping the internet and it's stealing everybody's information and hard work right and i get this question right it it does make sense to ask this question and it is it is a very very fine line chat gp definitely isn't perfect and it does get things wrong all of the time but like honestly if you're taking it out a hundred percent face value you're going to be left vulnerable there was that story of those attorneys who in the case of law like brought up they ask chad bt like hey we're working for this case we need some examples as to why this should be a allowed this should be legal and so brought up cases of how they could retaliate it against that and they're like cool thanks were even like okay and these are real case studies right chad g and chad was like yeah these are real case studies here's the numbers for all of them and they presented that in the court of law and it was all made up it wasn't real chat just pulled it out of its you know it's robot but i mean for me that's that's human error right how could how could you as a legal attorney present something that you didn't fact check yourself so it's not perfect and the thing is as of right now what chat gp and the law is saying is that it's not pla and it's not stealing because it's not copying the work of somebody outright it's more so just questionable when it comes to academic in the sense that if you're writing an essay and you're using chat ep you didn't really write the essay right even though i feel like i could argue that right like if you put in the prompt or the essay sa and you find tune it using chat you kinda wrote it right but anyways that's more so of where it gets questionable right everything we do at this point is is summarizing things we found on the internet so if chat gp just does that in a very sophisticated way it's not stealing it's it's summarizing and so at this point nothing is considered cheating or pla or stealing so to answer that question no it's not pla and it's not stealing it's it's sum which is what we do in everyday life everything we've ever learned we summarize and that's how we we interpret it and reg it so guys that about sums it up i will obviously have way more for you guys in episodes coming up ai is ever changing and i wanna make sure i'm always staying up to date and sharing all of that if fun information with you so continue to stay tuned and don't forget to follow rate you who i am and you guys can decide for yourself my name is laura anderson and i am a college dropout i make six figures a month now from doing digital marketing all of which i learned online for free and so this is kind of my origin story and how i really started so i'm gonna take you guys way back like way way back because i'm i'm old i won't say how old a lady never disclose her age but pretty old so even in school throughout elementary school middle school high school i i really struggled the school the academic structure wasn't really how i thrived or how i worked it's not that i was necessarily dumb i just it's just not how i thrived or how i i succeeded so i always had a tutor or i just never paid attention i never did my homework in high school i skipped school so much i skipped school so much that social services ended up calling my parents and being like she either needs to drop out or she has to keep gum to class because she's just gonna get kicked out because she's not attending so that's kind of a little background about how bad i was in school and i mean not to say that i was dumb i just you know didn't like it and i know a lot of people are the same way and it's not because we're dumb we just that's just not how we operate that's not how our brains operate we like learning if it's stuff we enjoy learning about so after that you know i kind of had to go through what was drilled into me which was you gotta go to college right the only way to succeed is go to college get a degree get a job make money pay your bills right that's the blueprint for success so i was like i gotta do that my parents kind of made it as that is the option is you have to go to school there's not another option so i did i try i tried i went to florida gulf coast university you know it's a it's an all right school they had a pretty decent basketball team i heard and i went for maybe half of a semester obviously absolutely hated it i was going to study computer science because for me it had always been something okay what can i do that's gonna make me a lot of money right isn't that kind of what we all want is how do we make a lot of money so i was like you know what i'm gonna study computer science females and tech we're gonna make so much money so i had enrolled in that and if anybody's taken a computer science class or like a css class or a python class i feel like you understand how elementary it is i remember we spent a whole class and css learning how to create a bear a teddy bear an entire class was around how to create a teddy bear out of like numbers or whatever and i was like dude like i cannot sit through this i can my i physically just couldn't do it it was like anybody can do this twice as fast by just looking it up on the internet and figuring how to do it themselves so that's that's kind of what happened i was like i can build websites a lot quicker if i just go online and figure out how to do it myself so it's like why am i gonna sit in school pay all this money go into a bunch of debt to learn something that i can essentially learn online totally for free a lot quicker so i dropped out and i packed up my car i had about three hundred dollars to my name packed up my car and i drove from florida to california and was like know i dropped out i gotta get out of i gotta get out of florida and my parents basically said you like good luck we'll see you in six months but they didn't see me in six months i stayed in california for about seven years actually i tried to go back to you school in california you know because i was like that's what i gotta do i'll just go to a community school maybe take a few classes here and there but it went from like three classes to two classes to no classes and i was building websites at that point and marketing them so going on to places like upwork and seeing who needed website development and booking work that way and so for me that was a lot better than getting a job i'd rather have no job build websites make money and do whatever i wanna do from then on that's kind of the mindset i've always had where it's like how can i not actually work but still make money and make good money and work whenever it is that i wanna work right instead of having to go to an actual job because to me having a job i i've had jobs too but having a job is the most soul sucking thing i've ever experienced and it's not that i don't like to work i really like working especially if it's something i enjoy it's just i i don't like a job it's the same thing with school like i i don't like the structure i also was always in the mindset of how do i make a lot of money but i have to work a lot and so i'm a tall girl and i was like i'm in the la area why not try to do some modeling so i got into the modeling industry as well so i was doing a couple different things just to make some money and not have to go to school or have a job i'm and all while building websites on the side and making good money from that way too so yeah i had three hundred dollars to my name and i ended up out in california and so i ended up in a room out in california a dirt cheap room in irvine shout out to irvine it's it's a really nice city it's a little city in the the suburbs orange orange county so a little bit outside of la so i was building websites and obviously you can do that from anywhere i didn't have to have a job or or go someplace place to actually work in order to make money i was able to do that from anywhere and bringing some money but i also needed to do more things so i ended up reaching out to some modeling agencies because i am a pretty tall girl and that's how i got into that so and that kind of opened up a whole new world of you know i was i was very young and getting into the modeling industry can be a little crazy a little good a little bad and a lot of crazy so all while doing that while building up my business of building websites on the side the modeling industry was definitely a lot of fun especially when i was in my very young age i have a lot of crazy stories from that time i'll definitely save the really good ones for another podcast but i definitely went to a lot of celebrity parties i met a lot of really cool people you know dabble with a lot of celebrities went to vegas a lot and i can say that every time i went to vegas i came back a whole lot richer which is something a lot of people don't they come back a lot poor because they lose to gambling but i gamble a lot of money and that wasn't mine and had a lot of fun with that and you know when you're gambling and it's not your money you max bet and go all in every single time and so i ended up always leaving vegas with with a lot of money and it was it was a lot of fun since i'll definitely save the really good stories for another episode on this podcast for you guys so on top of modeling and building websites right all of that is very up and down type of work right you're constantly riding wave you've have some really good months really good weeks and then you've got some really bad weeks some really bad months so i was like okay i i gotta do something else you know but i i'm not getting a job there's just no way i'm getting a job like a nine to five job so i like okay what's another thing that i can do to make really good money and not have to work a lot so i was like oh you know i know a lot of other models that do what you know promotional work or bar i was like i think i would have fun bart tending you make really good money as a bartender and you don't have to work a lot of hours you work a couple nights week and you make bank so i was like perfect i'm gonna get into bar and that at least i'll have some consistency cash flow wise while i'm building up my business of website development you know i wanted to kind of become a full fledged websites development industry or company so i was working bart modeling and building websites it was definitely a whirlwind it was there were definitely some high points and there were some low points during this time of you know building websites and coding drop shipping was really really big so drop shipping are you confused don't worry a lot of people are if you guys are familiar with drop shipping it's kind of it's it's kinda how amazon operates right where it's like they don't necessarily have their own products they have other people's products and they just sell it under their name and ship it directly to you so drop shipping was cool because you didn't need any capital to start you didn't need any money to start you just put up a website you source products from you know overseas typically on elliot express or alibaba and create a storefront right and you sell to customers so when a customer purchases from you there's like a seamless integration that purchases it directly from the wholesaler and then the wholesaler ships it directly to the customer so you don't have to purchase any inventory upfront little to no startup costs so i was like building websites and i was seeing all the people in this website development space also doing drop shipping and i was oh i could i could totally do that i could for sure build i'm gonna build the coolest women's clothing boutique i'm gonna sell i'm gonna make so much money right and so i started doing that and that was a whole learning experience on its own so drop shipping are you confused don't worry a lot of people are let me break it down for you so drop shipping is an e commerce business model where an online store sells products to customers but without physically stocking the inventory instead of keeping the products in stock the store owner which is what i did partners with a supplier or a wholesaler which for me was ali express or alibaba who handles the storage the packaging and of the shipment of the products directly to the consumers so essentially what drop shipping is is just a storefront right they don't have any of their own products they are a curator they curate products and put up a pretty store front you know if you're shopping for products on say alibaba or ali express and you're you're comb through page after page to find the right product essentially what a drop shipping store does does that for you right it curate all of the best products and for instance for me i had an online women's boutiques so i had really cute women's online clothing and instead of you having to go through page of page of a wholesaler supplier you could just come to my store and i've found all of those nice products laid out for you so what you do is you set up a storefront and you do that typically through shopify that's what i used it's an all in one platform that allows you to have the website and the checkout processor all seamless in one place and so then i selected the products from ali express and they have all these tools that allow you to seamlessly integrate them onto your storefront i took the photos of the products so they they looked really nice and then i list the products on my store and when a customer purchases it from my store i have the plugins ins or the apps that then directly purchase from ali express and it fills in all of the customer's information so that all they have to do is ship it directly to the customer so i never had any product it was a very popular business model back in the day it's still a very popular business model now it's just the game has changed a little bit it did end up doing really well i was profiting probably a thousand dollars a day from about twenty dollars in facebook advertising spend so i i built a website but you know at first you build it you curate it you make the website look beautiful you put all the products in there and you think like oh my gosh i'm gonna make so much money you open the doors and nobody shows up nobody cares right it's like oh i thought that was the hard part like nah the hard part is getting sales and getting people to actually purchase from you and care so i did that through facebook ads i learned facebook ads online for free shout out to youtube university and did a lot of trial in error and that and eventually ended up spending about twenty bucks a day on facebook ads that was the golden era facebook ads back in the day before ios fourteen update if you guys know what i'm talking about the tracking so that was a really high point what was awesome i was making really good money that drop shipping and then probably a low point was when it all ended and i left california so how that ended up happening i did stay in california for about seven years and how i ended up leaving was the drop shipping business i'd say it was about a year of profitable that way was making about thirty thousand dollars profit a month and i was young i was naive and so i was making good money but i was spending money right i didn't know what to really do with that kind of money so i i just spent it on you know dumb stuff doing doing dumb stuff and so i kinda got to a little point where i was dating this dude and he was a little bit of a narcissist i say little nicely he was a lot bit of a narcissist and i was running out of money this guy was a little bit of crazy and i was like you know what i i just i don't really have a reason to be in california other than i like it my sister had just had a baby so i was like you know what i'm just i'm just gonna leave i'm gonna get out of california i'm gonna go back home i'm gonna go to florida and so that's what happened and so like i said some high points they have some low points and the low point ended me back here in florida i did have to move back in with my parents in a very tiny apartment so that was interesting only for like six months because i was like i gotta gotta out of here so it was very nice that they let me stay with them but they were still always pressuring me to go back to school like you gotta get a degree what are you doing with your life you're like bar tending you know and i was like yeah i don't know i just can't i just can't go back to school and so they kind of you know said you know we want you to go back to school but there's not really a whole lot we can do if you don't go back to school so i i ended up moving out i i started bart again i started to build websites again but from the drop shipping i had learned facebook ads right that's where i i learned how to do facebook ads because i was like i have to drive traffic to my store how do i do that facebook ads and so i learned how to do facebook ads and i'm like if i could make my own store a thousand dollars of profit a day off of twenty dollars that's a pretty good skill that i'm sure other people would want and i had clients that i was building websites for that i was like hey guess what i could also do your facebook ads and so that's kind of where my business actually took a turn was when i started offering these services so i was still bar at the time because like i said this has always been a roller coaster process there were some good months there were some bad months and i'm kind of glad honestly that i more sore less failed at drop shipping i did really well but with drop shipping it becomes this whole monster where it's like you have to private label you can start out drop shipping but you'll plateau and if you don't private label meaning you don't actually purchase the inventory and put your own branding on it and then sell it you're gonna fail you're gonna fail and so i was like can't do this also i had a lot of issues with paypal and if anybody knows what i'm talking about in the e commerce space with paypal you know exactly what i'm talking about but paypal like f me really bad and i was like i gotta get out of the space i'm losing money at this point so i sold the drop shipping store and then i went all in on facebook ads and i used my own store as a case study like look what i did for my own store and use that as a case study and it helped me get a lot of clients starting out and so i completely pivoted and shift to okay now i'm going to go all in in the digital marketing space and so i became a digital marketing consultant for commerce i now specialize in beauty and skincare e commerce and i manage clients who spend hundreds of thousand of a dollars a month on facebook ads i also do email marketing for clients as well facebook ads and tiktok ads and those are my my heavy hit services but the best part about all of this is i now outsource all of them work so eventually i got to a point where i was you know i had a lot of clients and it was really good i was working okay like i wasn't working crazy but i was i was working a decent amount right and i had more potential clients coming through and i was like man i i really don't wanna take on any more work like i'm chilling i'm making about ten thousand dollars a month i now have clients that pay me ten thousand dollars a month alone but back then i had clients that were paying me around two thousand to four thousand dollars a month for facebook ads and when i say facebook ads that's also instagram ads i know that can get a lot of confusing like that can get pretty confusing for some people i should say meta ads i've just been doing it for so long that i say facebook which it's it's all the same it's the same umbrella so facebook ads is instagram ads as well so business was going really well i wasn't working a lot i had actually stopped bar because running ads for clients was very profitable and so i was going all in on it which was really nice that was always the goal was to stop actually having a job in working and doing this full time so it was going well i eventually got to a point where i had more clients than i was even willing to take on and i was like you know what i'm make good money i'm making about ten thousand dollars a month i'm i'm working but not a lot and i can obviously do the work whenever i want i was like do i even want more clients it's like well obviously because i want more money right who doesn't want more money but i was but then also that's more work so i was like how do how do i navigate this right what do i do and so honestly the only way to grow and into scale right because it's one person you can't do anything you have to hire help you have to get more people on board in order to scale there's only a certain amount of clients i can take on myself alone there's only so many hours in the day not to mention i don't even wanna work those hours so that's what i did i was like you know what i'm gonna take on these clients but i'm gonna pay somebody else to do the work so i started outsourcing the work and i know that can be a touchy word for a lot of you guys where you're like oh she's outsourcing she is taking advantage of people she's abusing the system or whatever and i i don't know why you guys think that that's how every business operates you have somebody who starts the business funds the business and then pays people to do the work right you don't think elon musk is building all of those tesla and doing the marketing no he's the founder of the company he manages the company but he pays everybody else to do the work and so that's what i did and i think maybe you guys think that outsourcing is i'm finding cheap labor overseas and that's not the case i find outsource work freelancers on fiber i use us based freelancers as a personal preference just because time zones it works out and communication is a lot easier that way so i started i started hiring people and it completely shifted my business model it can be scary at first to bring on more people because you're like oh it's my money i don't wanna lose my money right i want all of the money and that's your initial thought process but then what actually happens is the opposite right i was then able to stop doing all the stupid busy work and actually focus on what was important which was bringing in more clients signing up more clients and bringing more money in and so i ended up actually making way more money and then working way less because at this point i was just getting referrals i had clients knocking out on my door all i had to do was close them and then send off the work to my freelancers it's been a pleasure ever since and so that's how the whole ten hour ten k work month framework of mine comes into play i work about ten hours a month and i mean initially i was making ten k then i was making thirty k and now i'm making six figures a month so you get the idea of how how far this can go and obviously my next goal is like i hit six figures let's go seven figures a month so you know going down this path where you drop out of school you kinda it's it's hard to get support either from family or from friends especially because society teaches you you know go to school get a job and that's what my parents drilled into me as well as as most parents do right and it's it's justified right they wanna see their kids succeed they wanna see them be successful go to school and get a good job and raise a family you know so my parents did not support me not going to school they wanted me to go to school so they they didn't fund any anything for me outside of school they didn't even fund my school i i had a scholarship when i was going if if you graduate from florida with like a b average you automatically get a scholarship so it's not like i was smart and got a scholarship i was just simply because i graduated high school essentially i got a scholarship but i i would had to take out more money to actually finish school if i wanted to finish school because the scholarships called bright futures it wasn't it wasn't enough so i i didn't have support from my family finance wise right it's not like they they cut me off like emotionally or anything like that but they they weren't helping me they weren't financing anything for me not that they they could have anyway but and then all of my friends i don't know anybody else who didn't go to school like all my friends from high school that i was very good friends with they all they all went to to college and graduated and got jobs so i i was kind of of the wild card black sheep type and a lot of my friends still my friends don't understand what i do i try to explain it to them and it gets to a point where i just have to say not only to friends but to acquaintances too that i'm like i i can't sit here and educate you on it so i'm just going to say yeah i just i just hit buttons on my computer and i make money like i i don't know what else to tell you what i'll say like i do digital marketing and they are like first of all what's that let's like oh i do facebook ads and they're like oh so you're the one i see always in my feed and i'm like oh my what do you want me for to do like everybody uses ads that's the world runs on ads and so they don't understand that you can make a lot of money that way that i even end making a lot of money i don't know say some things to some of my friends and nobody's like wait what how much i'm like oh yeah you it's just because it's such a foreign concept that you can make really really good money without going the path that society tells you to go down that it's confusing right because we're all sold the american dream of going to school and building a life for yourself and i think maybe that used to be the case but school is just completely changed school is is i mean i don't think any school should be for profit it's essentially a scam i i don't think loans should be for profit it's like these port kids they'll get out of school and be crippled with debt and then they end up making like fifty k a year starting out and it's just it's it's crazy to me that's what we're sold that's what we're sold that is is good i mean it's always been crazy to me i i have hated school i hated the straight narrow path always just wanted to work less and make as much money as possible and it's it's a it's pant out well for me i it's been a while it's been a journey it's been a lot of ups and downs there's been a lot of waves i've had to ride but it's gotten me to a very successful place now i recently had a baby i didn't have to take off any work or anything because i didn't even have that much work so it's not like i didn't even skip a beat work wise my husband he is a stay at home dad because you know why why should he work when i make plenty of money and he can stay home and take care of our child and so it's it's worked out really well when i say school as a scam i have my reasons and i'm gonna go into a really good amount of detail in another episode on this podcast for you guys just so you can see where i'm coming from and my perspective so things were going you know pretty good for me i had no complaints and and since i know a lot of people were so foreign to this idea of success and i kind of wanted another creative outlet i started a tiktok and just got into what it is that i do i got a lot of positive feedback but it also got a little bit of negative feedback which obviously is great for engagement i built a base of a lot of people who were very interested in what it is that i do and wanted the same lifestyle for themselves especially other mothers who wanna be you know making a good income but at home with their kids which is obviously the dream for anybody even without kids right you'd rather make a lot of money by hardly working and not having to go to a job so i i just started making as much content as possible on tiktok i posted it on instagram too but you know tiktok i'm digital marketing and tiktok is the the hot the hot commodity right now so i went all in on tiktok and started posting a lot of content on there and of course naturally what came from that is everybody like hey do you do one on ones i need to learn what you do or do you have a course i i need to learn this so i was like you know what it would be too much to do one on once right i wouldn't be able to help the masses that way so how how do i reach as many people as possible who wanna learn this right and so it was course creation so that's when i came up with a ten hour ten k work month framework course teaching you how to make ten thousand dollars a month by only working ten hours a month and that's from learning a digital skill positioning yourself as an expert booking clients and then outsourcing all of the work and all of that has now led me to this podcast everybody who has taken the course all the feedback has been amazing and so many of my students are crushing it and it's honestly this is what fulfill me seeing you guys succeed doing what i'm doing and breaking out of the shitty corporate grind and being able to build a life for yourselves that's not just the soul sucking nine to five honestly nothing makes me happier and so i go live on tiktok almost daily and so many people ask me why are you doing like why why do you why do you care why you doing this and it's like i get so many dms and emails from people saying how much i've helped them and how their lives have been transformed i had one student even say that she's working her job but my course helped her negotiate a twenty thousand dollar raise and so she had that raise and now she's working that while building this business up on the side and making like a dual income from that so it's it's been really nice and it's been super super rewarding for me and it led me to this podcast where i can share even more with you guys build a really nice community here and have more in endeavor conversations and education for you guys so needless to say being in the digital marketing space i have been introduced to ai and chat bt and it's only increased my business honestly tenfold and i've been sharing all of the information and all of the goods about ai especially chat gp so i'm gonna go into a segment that's gonna be a reoccurring segment on this podcast and it is called don't be afraid of ai and so for this segment i wanna tell you why you shouldn't be afraid of ai because i know a lot of us r and any new technology technologies always faced with a lot of criticism and a lot of fear mon even the internet was i don't know how old some of you guys are but i'm old and i remember when they told us why k was gonna happen and the internet was going to access explode the earth pretty much and guess what guys that didn't happen they also thought that the internet oh my gosh everybody's gonna lose their jobs right and you know some people did the lose their jobs but it wasn't something that happened overnight it wasn't we go to sleep and we wake up and ten million jobs are taken away right it's a slow burn it's a slow process and jobs are phased out and these people are phased into new jobs right the internet may have eliminated some jobs but it created i would say ten times the amount of jobs that it took away and that's what we're gonna see ai do as well it's not gonna be overnight i think we're scared in the sense that you know tomorrow it's gonna be the terminator and that's just not the case it's it'll be a slow burn just like the internet was and we don't have to be afraid of it it should be an exciting time for me i'm super excited i'm obsessed with ai if you follow me on tiktok you know this but ai is it's the future and i honestly think that the internet walked so that ai could run and you don't have to be afraid of it it's here to enhance us not to eliminate us and my next episode is gonna be all about chat gp and ai so i will dive into it really really well and i can't wait to break that down for you guys and with this podcast and everything else that i have going on i am here to officially start the anti work movement we don't have to be in the office for forty hours a
